Even though this site is titled Woman's World from time to time we have male visitors.........many topics that affect wpmen also touch men. Sometimes men are simply searching for resources for the woman in their life. This letter touched me deeply........I had to share it with each of you.......as it was so well written and loving. Thanks David........
I was touched by Michael's Pennies. I was also touched by Woman's
World.
I'm adopted. My adopted father left my mom for a younger woman when
I was about nine. I watched her go through hell, and that was my first
understanding of what a woman has to face in this world.
I was raised thereafter by my grandmother, mother, and an older
sister. My sister was getting out of college when I was adopted, so she
was more like an aunt that a "sister".
I'm 49 now and relfect on what my family of women, whom so
carefully put all into me when my dad left, and smile knowing I know
what many men never get to realize -- Women are a part of life that is
unequaled. They have their own dreams and needs which are so unique --if
we just take the time to get to know them, for they are a gift of all
that is good in nature.
My grandmother is gone now. My mother is 88 and will soon , too, be
gone to her reward. My sister is just in her 70's and we are all
extremely close.
I would just like to say, "Thank you, women." for all that you
have shared with me. I love you for what you are, and for what you may
become.
Yes, I'm just a typical male and I have a great line when I meet a
woman, and it goes as follows: "I learned to cook from my grandmother,
love and compassion from my mother, charm and grace from my older
sister."
Love & Peace
David Shelton
