American Apple Pie


      Ingredients:

      6 large Granny Smith apples

      3/4 c. sugar

      1 teaspoons of cinnamon

      pinch of nutmeg

      2 tablespoons of flour

      Pie crust (in dairy section of grocery store)

      9" pie plate


      Instructions:

      Peal, core and slice apples. Mix sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour together. Poor over apples and mix.

      Put one pie crust on bottom of pie plate, add apple mixture and then put Second crust on top. Pinch crust together with a fork and cut off any excess. Slit center of pie for steam vent.

      Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or more. Insert knife in center of pie---if apples are soft the pie is ready.
