The Poetry Corner
Thank You for entering my poerty page. I hope you enjoy the selections I have chosen to display. Some of them are rather dark, but that is just me...*EG*
There was a time when I was normal, at least that is what I choose to believe. I think I must have decided that it was boring to be so. Well I do remember losing my mind somewhere on rt. 70 in 1992. *shrugs* If you have found it, I really don't want it back. I'm having to much fun now.
What I have done with my poetry corner is given you a brief description of most of the poems. And as I was once a headbangin, big hair, tight jeans, partyin, lil, teeny bopper of the '80's. I tend to be a bit of a wise cracker. But it's all for fun.
So take a seat, relax and enjoy the corner. Um, by the way. Some of my experiences from my past often come out to haunt here. So if you scare easy, BEWARE. *snickers* Things may come a runnin across the screen from time to time.
One thing I do ask is that if you decide to copy or use any of my poems, please ask first. The reason is I like to get feedback from all. And if you are going to use any of my stuff I would like to know where.
My first selections are about time. As I am forever thinking about ....everything...time obviously plays a big part in that.
Time
Memories of the Heart
(written 10-11-97)
(written 8-28-98)
The funny thing about time is,
it doesn't stop to talk about the weather
Pictures on a page
A passage in a book
Time tick-tocking by
It could care less
about the latest styles
A little girl's smile
Daffodils in the Spring
Star's on a full-moon night
Time doesn't watch its calories
nor its fat intake
True loves first kiss
The song playing when it happened
Eyes looking at you filled with pride
You'll never see time
taking a day off to relax
It doesn't bicker
or decide it is time to goto war
Things that are cherished
and held close through the years
Are memmories of the heart.
In fact, it's really one of the only things in life
that we can count on to remain the same
Times don't change
....WE do.
~To Whom it may concern~
(written 1-10-98)
To Whom it may concern:
Gone fishing today
Be back when all's been played
Want to visit the sun in the sky
Mr. Moon smiling at his cousin star's
Can't wait to glide into the water
So crytal clear
Reflecting colors I've always known
And have yet to discover
It is such a different world down there
So tranquil and happy
Yes, happy, I say
Come sometime to see and play
One floats on by
One jumps so high
One sings the blues
One whispers, "I love you"
Tomorrow comes
My night sky fades
No more moonlight
Glistening on the waves
Pack up my stuff
Caught alot of memmories
-memo to self-
Do this again soon
I am a spititual person. I pray every night. The next poem in my corner is to me one telling of the beauty of the world and how no matter how different we are, and our differences I realize make us special and unique, we are still from the same roots. Still from the same being, God, our Father.
(untitled)
(written 1-11-98)
Mountains so high
to the green lush valleys I glide
o'er hills of purple and red
to rivers of crystal blue
look up to the golden firey sky
then to the mysterious silver moon

Talk to the grass swaying gentely in a soft spring breeze
listen carefully to the message of the waves caressing me in the sea
Close my eyes and feel the warm embrace of sun
run to the highest peak to hear the echos of my heart

Raise my hands to praise my Maker
Thank HIm for his love and the wonderful gift of life,
nature, and our common thread

From the same dust we were made
From the same dust we will always be.
Okay, okay...I know I have told you already about my teen life. But here is a poem about me crying and wining about missing all the hard and heavy music. *sighs*
What happened to the Music
(written 1-16-98)
Time is like a candle burning in the wind
striving to maintain while
society concedes...more change

One more era
lost in the pages of history

One more moment
Held to heart by a generation
Now frozen in the ages of the past

A part of us forever holds on
to the memory of our youth

A part of us yeilds to change
more apt to conform
rather than commit

Yet another part
rebels to regain

.
Relive the golden age
out with the new
hold on to the old

Nevertheless enters
the defeated sigh

For even if the old should make another debute
It would still be mingled with the new

The preverbial candle blowing in the wind
HAS DIED
only to continue

In some small way
in time
Page two...mushy, lovey, funny
