X Rays and Bloodwork (8/3/99): Oops! I forgot to have this done last week!! It was wonderful to see everyone again!!!!! A couple of the nurses stuck their heads in the blood draw room to say hi and they love the way my hair is coming back.
The X-ray was no big deal. It seems like just yesterday I was standing in front of that machine unable to lift my arms. Praise God!!!!!
The Checkup(8/4/99): My bloodwork is all normal and everything seems to be healing fine. I just need to lose the excess weight (the doctor says no more sympathy) She refered me to my Gynecologist if my menstral cycle doesnt regulate itself soon
The Shadow(8/8/99): The chest x-ray showed a small shadow. It may be a scar from radiation but they still want to look at it. We scheduled an ultrasound.
The Cat Scan (8/18/99): I was given an injection and told that I may get the sensation that I needed to urinate. The scan itself was pretty much like what you see on tv medical shows. I almost jumped out of my skin when the machine began speaking to me with orders like, "Hold your breath now"
Results (8/19/99): Praise the Lord! Whatever they saw on the x-ray was not there on the cat scan. I think that this is a picture of my medical life from this point forward..nothing will ever be "routine." |
