About Alpha Gamma Delta
***Alpha Gamma Delta International Fraternity was founded on May 30, 1904 at Syracuse University by eleven pioneering young women. Since then, it has grown to include 176 undergraduate chapters, and 250 alumnae chapters, clubs, and Junior Circles. There are 123,000 Alpha Gam Sisters worldwide. In 1909 the Fraternity became a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC).

***Alpha Gamma Delta is a true trailblazer in the Greek system: it was the first Greek group founded with the intention of becoming a national organization. It was also the first of the NPC groups to adopt a specific international philanthropy. It was the first Greek women's organization to colonize in Hawaii as well.
Our symbols:
--Our colors are red, buff, and green.
--Our flowers are red and buff roses with a green asparagus fern.
--Our jewel is the pearl.
--Our mascot is the squirrel, Skiouros.
***Alpha Gam's international philanthropy project is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. The foundation is a trust separate from the Fraternity structure and administered by a board of Trustees. The Foundation supports many projects that benefit both the sisters of Alpha Gam and the world at large. The primary philanthropic focus of the Foundation is diabetes research.

***Each member of Alpha Gamma Delta believes in and strives to live up to the
Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose. The Purpose outlines the ideals of the Fraternity as a whole and sets that standard by which each individual sister lives.
