For those of you who have trouble with measurements. Use this handy chart.

American Liquid Measures

1 gallon = 4 quarts = 3.79 L (Can usually be rounded to 4 L)

1 quart = 2 pints = 0.95 L (Can usually be rounded to 1 L)

1 pint = 2 cups = 16 fl oz = 450 ml (Can usually be rounded to 500 ml)

1 cup = 8 fl oz = 225 ml (Can usually be rounded to 250 ml)

1 tablespoon = 1/2 fl oz = 16 ml (Can usually be rounded to 15 ml)

1 teaspoon = 1/3 tablespoon

Calico Beans
1/4 lb bacon, cut up

1/2 C chopped Onion

1/2 C brown sugar 1/2 C Ketchup

2 T vinegar

1 T mustard

1 avg. size can Butter Beans

1 avg. size can Pork -n- Beans

1 avg. size can Red Beans

Saute bacon and onion. Stir in remaining ingredients Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.

No Bake Cookies

2 C Sugar
1/4 C Cocoa
1/2 C Milk
1/4 t salt
1/2 C Peanutbutter
3 C Oatmeal
1 t Vanilla

Heat sugar,cocoa, salt, and milk in pan till boiling and sugar disolves. Stir in vanilla and Peanutbutter till peanutbutter disolves. Stir in Oatmeal and drop onto waxpaper. Let set till it hardens.

Hot Chocolate

5 C dry milk
1 lb Nestle Quick
6 oz Coffee Mate
1 C Powdered Sugar

Mix all ingredients until well blended. Combine with hot water to suit your indivual tastes.

Bierochs

Bread dough (homemade or store bought)
2 lbs hamgurger
1 small head of cabbage,chopped fine
1 c of chopped onions
salt and pepper to taste

Saute and brown hamburger, cabbage, and onions. Drain off grease. Roll out dough and cut into squares or rectangles. Fill one square with meat mixt. and seal another square over top. Bake in 350 degree over till bread is browned.
