Preceptor Upsilon Chartered in March of 1988. Although we are a Preceptor Chapter we have members from Exemplar to Laureate degree. We currently have 16 members ranging from age 30 and up. We have members with children and with grandchildren. The main purpose of the sorority is to promote fellowship and close supportive friendships among its members. Our socials range from lunches out to week -ends at a beach house. We love going to musicals, harbor tours, bowling, conventions, shopping trips, dance lessons, and picnics. We just like to party.
We don't have a funding raising project. We pay dues to cover our expenses. Not only are our members active, but we have a chapter full of envoy husbands and about ten or more legacy members. Our service projects include an annual Christmas party for the Hope for Children Center. In our personal careers our members range from domestic engineers, nurses, secretaries, accountants, and some retirees.
Our meetings are currently the second Tuesday of every month and hosted by the members at their homes in the West Ashley, Summerville, Ladson, Goose Creek, and North Charleston Areas.
We know that together we have something special. It could be interpreted as synergy, however, we in Preceptor Upsilon just call it sisterhood.
