Xi Zeta Chapter - Charleston SC

Xi Zeta Chapter

Where Friendship Blooms

Xi Zeta has 8 active members, ranging in age from 48 up. They are a career chapter, meeting in member's homes on the 2nd Tuesday of the month except June, July and August. The main purpose of the sorority is to promote fellowship and close supportive friendships among its members.

Most of the members live on James Island and one member in Mt. Pleasant. Our careers range from home engineers, secretaries to a registered nurse and X-ray technican.

The chapter was charted in 1978 and members hold Ritual of Jewels,Exemplar, and Preceptor degrees. Their service projects consist of donating school supplies to needy children, taking food to the Ronald McDonald House and the Florence Crittenton Home, and adopting a needy family at Christmas.

They usually have only one fund raising project a year and that is selling hot dogs at Lowe's one Saturday.

Their socials range from steak cookouts, overnight shopping trips to Myrtle Beach, attending a play at the Dock Street Theater, and trips on one of the members pantoon boat.

Most meetings are held at members' homes and include a short business meeting followed by the social part of the evening. Many members like to think of their sorority meetings as their special night out with good friends -- something just for them!
