~ Time~

So many times in our lives we had others turn away
And we felt in our hearts they would never want to stay.

We ran out of fear from those who seemed to care
And often felt that they were not even aware.

Nearly one year ago I met you out of the blue
The extent that you would touch my life was to me very new.

Throughout the months we shared so much
We shared many laughs, tears, dreams and such.

The time passed and some things changed as they should
But for my life to be content I had to pray that you'd stay if you could.

We went through many struggles and the pain is still within
I know that for myself I had to ask you to come back in.

No matter what changes in our lives through the years
I feel I must hold on to all we share to spare me many tears.

Your friendship and meaning in my life is true
My heart is happier because of you.

Don't allow changes to scare you away
For in my heart you are forever going to stay.

Time can be an enemy for many things
But with your friendship nothing but joy is what it brings.

Nothing can change all the love I have for you
I only hope you feel the same way too.
