Dusty finished his CD title at the Butler County Kennel Club Pennsylvania Show Sept 25, 1999 with a big win, taking the first place ribbon with highest score in his class! Dusty earned his CD in five shows with three wins, one first place and one second place score. We are SO proud of you Dusty! Thanks also goes to Dusty's private trainer Louis Lewis of The Total Canine, who helped me bring Dusty from a super shy pup to a confident winner. Dusty is working toward his CDX, he has also done some training in agility with the Butler County PA Kennel Club, and tried his hand at Sheep Herding in Nova, OH with the American Herding Breeds Association in the Fall of 2002.

Dusty was born 1-27-98. Although he has many champions in his pedigree, Dusty is a companion/performance dog, which means he's a great dog, but he has some faults such as: He grew taller than the 16" maximum height the Shetland Sheepdog Standard calls for, he is light boned, his eyes are rather large, his coat is soft and curly, he also was a shy dog and he has had allergies. All of these issues dictate that he is not "show quality" and should not be bred. We strongly believe that unless an animal will better the Shetland Sheepdog Breed as a whole, that they should not be bred and should be spayed or nuetered as Dusty was. Any AKC registered spayed/nuetered dog can still participate in obedience shows, agility and herding trials, fly ball and other activities and can be very competive and tons of fun!
