Affiliate programs, sometimes termed referral, associate, or partnership programs, offer a great way for you to easily put your web site's traffic to use, and begin generating income. In return for you sending traffic to a merchant's web site, you can earn commissions based on the sales you generate. Email processing is one way some of these programs get their referrals. "Processing" is a fancy word for the process of their Agents, setting up web pages, advertising the products and opportunities, answering emails and generating traffic to the web pages from a page coded with an individual's information. Most affiliate programs offer an easy, and completely free way to sign up, providing you with a partner ID with which their system recognizes your referrals.

There are some serious pros and cons to joining an affiliate program. Some SAY they are start up free.
