Just last spring I passed on the "Wonder" needle book at a local shop. The dealer had priced it at $15.00 since it was marked "Occupied Japan". I didn't find that marking very impressive because I knew I had some older than that. In this case, my instincts were right. I found "Wonder" on eBay for less than
$15.00 ( and you know that I believe that eBay prices are inflated). In the case of some collectibles, "Occupied Japan" might be a meaningful marker. In the case of needle books, it's just an interesting
sidebar. Many needle books are available with calendars from the very early 1900's. "Collectible Treasures" may say these items date from the 20's to the 50's, but they're wrong! Many were made earlier
than that.
