OK, I'm going to summarize a bunch of information here and then include some articles and descriptions of the teaser at the end.

Mulder is still ill and Deep Throat returns as a sort of angel (think It's a Wonderful Life). Meanwhile Scully is approached by a mysterious scientist with information on Mulder's illness. The illness has to do with certain parts of Mulder's brain, which were inactive during evolution, being activated by the alien virus. With all this information to ponder over (I smell voice overs) Scully comes to the conclusions that the aliens may have participated in human evolution and/or humans and aliens might share a common ancestry.

10/14 - FOX Sweeps PR: THE X-FILES premieres its seventh season Sunday, Nov. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) with a two-part story (the conclusion airs Nov. 14) which resolves last season's cliffhanger finale. In the episodes, Scully (Gillian Anderson) races against time to unravel the truth behind an alien relic and save the life of Mulder (David Duchovny), who is hospitalized in a semi-catatonic state.

10/9 - XF Premiere Promo from Harsh Realm tonight courtesy of Shari on the mb: Not necessarily in this order, we got : -- Mulder saying "They're coming" -- I think. -- Mulder slamming his forearm against Skinner's chest and pushing him up against a wall. Mulder's wearing a hospital gown when this happens. -- Mulder lying in a bed being pinned down by Fowley across his legs, Skinner across his chest, and a doctor somewhere in the mix. -- It's the return of ScullyGlasses!, and she has her hair piled up on her head most becomingly. -- Somebody -- I think it was Scully -- was being attacked by bees. Hard to tell who it was 'cause it was dark, but sounded like her scream. -- Scully yelling "Stop!" -- Scully saying "It has power." and some man saying "It IS power." -- an odd looking figure in the middle of the road -- a scared Scully gasping in surprise. Very cool promo -- lit all in a blue tint.

From Haven For The FBI's Most Unwanted:
Through a dead insect-infested inner drape, a 30ish black woman enters the tent. She is sweaty and wearing green khakis (top and bottom) with a grey tee. She scans the room looking on in disbelief. When she speaks, it is with an African accent. She evidently makes eye contact with someone across the tent. The shot is from in front and just below eye-level. We see her shoulders and head. Dr. Ngebey: "My God. What happened here?"
In the same tent, the camera sets up the scene by focusing in on photos upon a desk. The photos appear to be in disarray an are also covered in dead insects of all kinds. Scully's hand is seen rifling through the photos and settles on a white piece of paper. When she withdraws the paper, we see it is the rubbing. The camera travels up her arms to include her waist, torso and head. She is wet-headed, tired and wearing a snug white tee, long-sleeved tan linen shirt and dark green pants. She turns to Dr. Ngebey to hand her the rubbing.
Scully: "You know what this is."
Ngebey: "I should dare say. Dr. Macmallin has shown me some of its powers."
Scully: "Well, its powers have made somebody close to me very ill. I believe there are answers here which can make him well."
The camera is to the right and just behind Dr. Ngebey. We see her holding the rubbing and Scully just beyond.
Ngebey: "How far you have come to find them."
She returns the rubbing to Scully who accepts it but seems vulnerable with the truth of Ngebey's statement.
Ngebey: "You must not let the men know what happened to you last night...the vanishing man...none of it."
Scully: "Why?"
Ngebey: "They are animists believing nature is vengeful. They'll take this as a sign to leave what you have found alone. A bad omen."
Scully: "Caused by the ship out there?"
Ngebey: "Hmmmm. Caused by God...who will be much less helpful than those men if we are to continue this work."
Ngebey: "I have something to show you. More pieces of the puzzle."
Ngebey: "I couldn't believe it. I thought I was making it up in my mind...that it couldn't be true."
Scully: "What?"
Ngebey: "What this is...what the symbols spell out is a passage to the Q'ran. Q'yamah (sp?)...what we call "The Over- whelming Event"..."The Day of Final Judgement". How? Hmmmm? On a spacecraft? Ancient teachings from the prophet Mohammed."
Scully: "I found more, too."
The following should help answer who was being swarmed in the trailer, though not in scene order from the above
Scully: "Yeah, uh. I was working late last night by lamplight. I, uh, saw a man...who vanished...and, then, they just swarmed."

From spoilerville: "In a continuation from last season's cliffhanger, we find SCULLY in Africa standing over and supervising the removal of what she believes to be some sort of alien spacecraft. Still reeling from her first exposure to hard "proof" of the existence of extraterrestrial life, SCULLY travels back to the United States to bring this information to MULDER. What she finds upon her return, however, is her partner in a desperate and rapidly deteriorating state of mental and physical health. Going in search of answers, SCULLY is approached by a mysterious medical scientist (stunt casting [?]) who claims to know what ails MULDER. Tying MULDER's illness into his previous exposure to the alien virus, the scientist claims that certain parts of his brain, previously inactive in man's evolution, are now coming to life. Slowly putting the pieces of the scientist's theory together, SCULLY starts to realize the implications: the newly activated brain matter (triggered by the markings from the alien spaceship) raises the notion that not only might aliens have had a role in human evolution, but also all human beings may share a previously unknown alien ancestry. As SCULLY struggles with this new information, we slowly start to see the link between MULDER's plight and all the alien mythology from seasons past. STATUS: story pitched, filming from 8/31-9/10"
