Transcripts of the spots that FX has been showing before the conspiracy
episodes ...

THE ERLENMEYER FLASK:

Frank Spotnitz: 'The Erlenmeyer Flask' is, to me, the first true mythology
episode.

(Shot of Mulder picking up the purity control flask, Deep Throat in his car
saying "tip of the iceberg".)

John Shiban: The element that we are introduced to is the infamous green
blood.

(Shot of Dr. Secare running up the ramp, getting shot by the policeman,
and jumping into the water. Policeman: "I know I hit him ... should be
bleeding bad", then the puddles of green. Scully on phone to Mulder:
"I may be understating the strangeness of this, Mulder." Mulder steps
around a corner, gun drawn. Scully watches the driver of the van pass
her on the bridge.)

Frank Spotnitz: It's one of my favorite episodes, just because it was
really not a horror story. It was not a mystery story. It was a suspense
thriller. Scully gets into a place called Purity Control ...

(Deep Throat to Mulder: "Don't give up on this one". Deep Throat is shot.
The monkey lunges at Scully.)

Gillian Anderson: She finds something that looked like it was alien ...

Frank Spotnitz: ... the alien fetus ...

Gillian Anderson: ... and could possibly be, but she'd have to, you know,
do a little autopsy.

(Shots of Scully lifting the fetus from the liquid nitrogen.)

Frank Spotnitz: It's a very important clue to the overall conspiracy.

John Shiban: You get to see it again, cause that is the Holy Grail to the
X-Files.

(Shot of someone in a fully encapsulated suit lifting a similar fetus out
of liquid nitrogen. [This is actually from 'One Father' / 'Two Sons'.]
Deep Throat: "Mr. Mulder". Mulder enters the storage room.
Deep Throat: "You've never been closer." Mulder: "Closer to what?"
Mulder stands in front of the aquariums.)

-----

LITTLE GREEN MEN:

Frank Spotnitz: There are two important things to watch for in 'Little
Green Men'. One is the character of Senator Matheson, Mulder's patron
in Congress, and the second thing is we see the abduction of Mulder's
sister in flashback.

(Quick shot of Mulder turning around, then Matheson passing the "they
may be listening" note across to Mulder. Then, in the flashback, the lights
go out, Samantha calls "Fox" and screams, young Mulder turns and sees
Samantha suspended.)

Frank Spotnitz: There's a lot of little specific details in that abduction
memory that we've referenced many times over the years. There's the fact
that he and Samantha were playing Stratego, that 'The Magician', a Bill
Bixby TV series, was on right before she got abducted.

(Shots of the Stratego game and Samantha calling Mulder "butt-munch",
the two arguing over the TV.)

John Shiban: He went through regression therapy before the X-Files started
to recall these memories, and in this episode, he relives that night in 1973
when the house began to shake and the lights came through the windows
and she was taken out.

(Shots of Mulder awakening after the dream, then the abduction scene with
Mulder yelling "Samantha!" as she goes through the window.)

Frank Spotnitz: Those are great scenes to pay attention to.

-----

DUANE BARRY / ASCENSION:

John Shiban: Duane Barry is a multiple abductee. He believes he will
be abducted again and everyone thinks he's nuts except Mulder.

(Shots of Duane surrounded by aliens, getting his teeth drilled, awakening.
Then Scully wearing the headset, Duane: "You're just like all the others,
aren't you? You lied just like everybody else!" Mulder: "I believe you,
Duane!" Agent-in-Charge: "Choosing a dangerous course, Agent Mulder."
Duane looks through Scully's blinds.)

John Shiban: Duane Barry, in 'Ascension', brings a whole 'nother wrinkle
to the mythology.

(Shot of Duane breaking Scully's window, Scully reaching for the table,
and Duane grabbing her.)

Frank Spotnitz: Scully gets abducted simply because the writers had to
come up with a way to deal with her pregnancy.

(Scully: "What do you think?"
Mulder: "I think I know what you're going through.")

Gillian Anderson: I literally showed up, all 695 pounds of me at the time
(smiles) to be stuffed in the back of a trunk.

(TD NOTE: Gillian was pregnant during this episode shoot. Hence the
previous weight joke.)

Frank Spotnitz: You rarely see anything other than her face.

(Shots of Scully in the trunk with Duane Barry standing over her, Mulder
looking at the video grab of her in the trunk, Mulder handcuffing Duane at
Skyland Mountain. Mulder: "Where is she?" Duane: "They took her."
Mulder: "Who?" Duane: "Them!")

Frank Spotnitz: Scully the skeptic becomes totally invested in Mulder's
quest now. Whatever Mulder is investigating has now been done to her
as well.

(Shot of Mulder wrestling Duane up the hill as the lights appear, then
Duane yelling "No!", then the spotlight above them.)

-----

ONE BREATH:

Gillian Anderson: I show up again for 'One Breath'. It is assumed that
I have been abducted by aliens or the government, depending on what
side of the street you're on.

(Shots of Mulder entering the ICU and comatose Scully.
Mulder: "How did she get here?" Shot of Ma Scully at her bedside.
Mulder to Dr. Daly: "Was is paramedics? FBI? Military?" Then Mulder
with his gun on CSM: "Why her and not me?" CSM: "I like you.")

William B. Davis: Somehow, somebody gets tipped off that I'm the guy
who knows about it.

(CSM: "Don't try and threaten me, Mulder. I've watched presidents die."
Mulder grabs his cigarette.)

Frank Spotnitz: As you keep watching these episodes, you'll see that
Scully was part of an experiment.

(Shot of the protein analysis.
Byers: "Whoever was experimenting on Scully is finished. Now it's nothing
more than a biological poison."
Mulder: "Will she live?" Then Mulder chases the bad guy through the
parking deck, yelling "Federal Agent!" as the bad guy takes a shot at him.)

Frank Spotnitz: Scully's blood disappears from the hospital because there
is evidence in her blood of what they did to her and they want to hide it.

(Shots of Mulder looking for the bad guy and holding the vial of her blood.
Mulder: "Who wants it?" Mr. X: "You want to see what it takes to find the
truth, Agent Mulder?". Mulder: "Wait!" X shoots the bad guy.)

-----

COLONY / END GAME:

Rob Bowman: In the Colony / End Game two-parter, you can look for the
introduction of the cloning idea.

(Shots of the conning tower, Mulder lying on the ice beneath it,
Scully with her gun on the Gregors. Gregor: "We are the last remaining.")

Frank Spotnitz: And, most shockingly, Mulder meets a woman who says
she is his sister. Of course, this would seem to be the end of Mulder's quest,
because that's what he's been looking for.

('Samantha' to Mulder: "Is it too late for a game of Stratego?"
Ma Mulder: "Fox, it is really her, isn't it?")

Rob Bowman: In 'End Game', there's a great scene where Skinner confronts X ...

(Shot of X coming off the elevator and running into Skinner.)

Vince Gilligan: Skinner kicks Mr. X's ass in the elevator.

Rob Bowman: ... in order to draw some information out of him that
Scully desparately needs to find Mulder.

(Skinner: "Did you tell her what she needed to know?"
Skinner and Mr. X start fighting.)

Rob Bowman: Great scene.

(The head butts.)

Vince Gilligan: Man! All right!

Rob Bowman: And Skinner comes through in the end for Scully.
He is, in a way, a good guy.

(Shot of Scully opening Mulder's door with bloody Skinner outside.
Skinner: "Agent Mulder took a commercial flight to Tacoma, Washington."
Scully: "How did you get this?" Skinner: "Unofficial channels.")

-----

ANASAZI:

(Shot of Scully shooting Mulder.)

Frank Spotnitz: 'Anasazi' begins with a hacker ...

William B. Davis: Somebody cracks a code ... some little hacker.

Frank Spotnitz: ... getting ahold of the mythic documents about our
involvement with aliens.

(Shots of the hacker, of Scully and Mulder looking at the computer screen
in the office, Mulder opening the envelop with the digital tape.)

William B. Davis: This digital tape has this information on it.

Frank Spotnitz: The interception of these documents threatens the
conspiracy.

(Pa Mulder to CSM: "No one was supposed to know ... my name is in
those files ... how do you know my son has them?")

Frank Spotnitz: We're understanding for the first time that Mulder's
father was involved in the conspiracy.

(CSM on phone to Mulder: "Your father may have told you things, Mr. Mulder.
I should warn you against taking those things at face value." Pa Mulder
in his bathroom with Krycek in the background.)

Frank Spotnitz: And Mulder's father gets shot.

Nick Lea: I still, to this day, contest that it wasn't me, that I just was there.
I witnessed it.

Frank Spotnitz: Keep watching, keep watching and finally in Season Six we
learn everything about what Mulder's father did and what his role was in
the conspiracy.

(Shots of Pa Mulder answering his door and finding CSM and Mulder over
his dying father. Albert Hosteen to Mulder: "You are prepared to accept
the truth, aren't you?". Then Mulder opening the boxcar and inside with the
bodies. Mulder on phone: "These aren't human, Scully.")

-----

THE BLESSING WAY

(Shot of Scully and Skinner with guns on each other.)

Frank Spotnitz: Until the beginning of season three and an episode called
'Blessing Way', we had never seen any members of the conspiracy.

(Shots of Scully and WMM at Pa Mulder's funeral.
Scully: "Who are you?"
WMM: "I'm a member of a kind of consortium.
We represent certain global interests.")

Gillian Anderson: They are this group of old fogies who sit in dark rooms
all over the world and argue about how to patch up the big mistake that
they've made.

(Shots of the First Elder, WMM, CSM and other members in the darkened
room.)

William B. Davis: It was a shock to me when the Syndicate appeared
because I thought I was all-powerful.

(Shot from the darkened room. Member: "Forty years of work. The damage
could be incalculable." Other member: "The damage is done.")

Frank Spotnitz: Watch these scenes with the Syndicate over the years
and you'll see that they get more and more explicit.

(Shot of Scully's x-ray. Doctor: "It's embedded in your soft tissue here."
Scully: "What do you think it could be?")

John Shiban: The small chip that's been implanted in the back of her neck,
presumably when she was abducted in 'Ascension' ...

(Scully: "It looks like a computer chip.")

John Shiban: ... and the chip will come back when Scully finds that she
has cancer. The chip is really a haunting, creepy thing to do to poor Scully.

(Shots of the chip, tearful Scully at her mother's door, Ma Scully hugging
her, and the metal detecting wand beeping at the FBI entrance.)

-----

PAPER CLIP

Rob Bowman: 'Paper Clip' really has everything that's great about the
X-Files. It's got awesome visuals, aliens, conspiracy ...

(Shots of Mulder looking at the lights from within the factory and then the
spaceship from outside it and the "alien" at the end of the corridor. Then
a Syndicate session. WMM: "You presume to make us believe you can
simply fix it with enough bullets?" CSM: "I wasn't aware that my honesty
was in question." Then Mulder and Scully in the factory.
Scully: "What do you think?"
Mulder: "I'd like to try door number one, Monty.")

John Shiban: Mulder discovers files ...

(Shots of the files corridor.
Scully: "Lots and lots of files ... you're looking for a file on me?")

Frank Spotnitz: Scully's name is in them, as is Mulder's sister. We learn
here, for the first time, that they appear to be part of the same program.
We also learn, that on Samantha's file folder, the original label was
Mulder's name.

(Shots of Mulder and Scully looking at the files, with Scully saying, "It's
a recent tissue sample." Then Mulder peels the label off Samantha's file.)

John Shiban: Does that mean he was supposed to be abducted and she
was taken instead?

(Shot of CSM and Skinner, with Skinner saying, "Now listen to me,
you son of a bitch!")

William B. Davis: Skinner gets the better of me ...

(Skinner: "This is where you pucker up and kiss my ass!")

William B. Davis: ... I don't like that too much.

John Shiban: And Scully sees things running by her.

Gillian Anderson: I don't think she knew what the heck was going on.

(Shots of creatures scurrying by Scully in the darkened corridor.)

-----

NISEI / 731:

Rob Bowman: In the Nisei / 731 two-parter, we are introducing the Japanese
scientists and this quarantine car.

(Shots of the alien being zipped up in the body bag, the scientists looking
down at Scully and the photo of the Japanese. Scully: "I've seen this man
before." Then the train car. Mulder: "Part of our government's secret
railroad ... train cars used to carry test subjects." Then Mulder looks
through binoculars at the "alien" being loaded into the train.)

Frank Spotnitz: One of the most chilling scenes in all the X-Files is the
scene in Nisei when Scully meets all these women ...

(Shot of Scully with the MUFON members in Betsy Hagopian's house.
One says, "Most of us here have been taken many times."
Scully: "Taken where?"
Shots of Scully on the exam table and the women with their chips.)

Frank Spotnitz: These women all have chips in the back of their necks,
and they've all removed them.

Gillian Anderson: That's her first introduction to anybody who has any
similar experience that she had had.

Frank Spotnitz: And this chip runs through many, many of these episodes
and is very important.

(Shot of Mulder jumping onto the train. Scully: "Mulder, you have got to
stay out of that train car." Mulder walks along the top of the train.)

Frank Spotnitz: Scully says "I've been in a boxcar like this, Mulder."

(Scully: "This is where they put the implants in my neck."
Mulder: "Who told you this?"
Shots of Mulder in the train car and Scully in the other car with the First Elder.)

Frank Spotnitz: It was men. It wasn't aliens.

(Shots of the train and Mulder looking at the creature on the train.
Scully: "Mulder, whatever is on that train is not alien."
Mulder: "You're wrong, Scully.")

-----

PIPER MARU / APOCRYPHA:

Frank Spotnitz: [In] 'Piper Maru', we catch up with Krycek and find that
he is selling secrets to the highest bidder.

(Shot of Mulder telling Krycek, "Why don't you take that gun and shoot
yourself like you shot my father." Then shot of black-eyed Gauthier
grabbing Mrs. Gauthier, then black-eyed Mrs. Gauthier.)

Rob Bowman: It's the introduction of the black oil, its ability to leap from
person to person ...

Frank Spotnitz: Krycek goes into the bathroom, and there's a woman that
walks into the stall next to him.

John Shiban: I always thought that was a classic moment, 'cause you laugh
for an instant and then you're scared.

(Shot of Krycek looking down at Mrs. Gauthier's foot, laughing, and then
getting slammed against the bathroom wall. Then shot of black-eyed
Krycek coming out of the bathroom to meet Mulder.
Mulder: "Feel better?"
Krycek: "Like a new man.")

Nick Lea: I'm under the influence of the alien. It was really only trying
to get back to its ship.

(Shot of Mulder and Scully in the office looking at a vial of the oil.
Mulder: "I don't think this just ordinary diesel oil, Scully. I think it's
a medium." Scully: "So you're saying that this stuff has intelligence?")

Gillian Anderson: It's what the aliens are made of.

(Shot of the oil seeping back into the ship, and Krycek on top of the ship
in the missile silo.)

William B. Davis: I have a very strange relationship with Krycek.
In 'Apocrypha', he brings the famous digital tape back to me.

(Shots of black-eyed Krycek at CSM's house. CSM: "I've been expecting
you." Louis Cardinale aims a gun at Krycek. The digital tape is dropped
on the table. CSM: "I have what you want.")

Frank Spotnitz: Here we are in season 3 of The X-Files, finally seeing
what ends up being *the* virus, *the* big colonizing force in the universe.

(Shots of Mulder and Scully shining flashlights around the missile silo,
Krycek on top of the ship expelling the oil.)

-----

TALITHA CUMI / HERRENVOLK:

Frank Spotnitz: 'Talitha Cumi' and 'Herrenvolk' introduce the idea of the
bees for the first time.

(Shot of a bee stinging the lineman, then him falling from the telephone pole.)

Frank Spotnitz: What's really interesting and fun about this episode is
that Jeremiah Smith offers the CSM a bargain, and on the heel of "I can
heal you".

(Shot of CSM opening the door of the cell, with Smith bound inside.
Smith: "You are dying of lung cancer."
CSM: "You want to save your life."
Smith: "And you?"
Then a shot of the Bounty Hunter opening the door and finding the cell empty.)

Frank Spotnitz: It's very oblique. You've got to listen very carefully.
And the next thing you know, Jeremiah Smith has escaped, and I don't
think the CSM has lung cancer any more (laughs), so he's corruptible.

(Shot of CSM in the cell with Smith. CSM: "Am I?")

Frank Spotnitz: I remember when Herrenvolk first aired, people were like
"well, we never did learn what the hell the bees were for."

(Shot of Mulder, Smith and young "Samantha" in the bee hive, then Mulder
says "Well, then explain it to me." Shot of Scully in front of Skinner and
the other FBI folks, showing the results of her analysis of the biopsy from
her vaccination scar.)

Gillian Anderson: The bees, um, something about pollen. (smiles, then
breaks into a laugh. Others are heard laughing off-camera.)

Frank Spotnitz: Eventually you find out everyone's being catalogued for
some kind of planned invasion which involves the release of bees that will
be carrying a virus.

(Shot of Mulder, Smith and "Samantha" running out of the hive, and the
Bounty Hunter being stung inside.)

-----

TUNGUSKA / TERMA:

(Shots of oil derrick exploding, Mulder and Krycek observing the Russian
camp.)

Frank Spotnitz: In 'Tunguska' and 'Terma', we learn that this black oil came
in Russia from outer space in a asteroid that actually did crash there in 1908.

(Shot of Mulder and Krycek observing the camp.
Mulder: "Looks like some kind of mining camp.")

Frank Spotnitz: The Russians are working on a vaccine to cure the black
oil, and conducting these terrible experiments in a gulag there.

(Shots of Mulder being injected with the vaccine, the black oil test room,
the oil dropping from the pipe onto Mulder's face, and the oil in Mulder's
eyes.)

Rob Bowman: And the syndicate's using our senior citizens, our terminally
ill senior citizens, in geriatric hospitals ...

(Shots of CSM and the black oil coming out of a dead patient in the
geriatric hospital. Mulder tells Scully, "I think they've been poisoned.")

Frank Spotnitz: There's the equivalent of the space race going on for this
vaccine.

(Shot of Mulder knocking Krycek's hat off, then telling him, "You're an
invertebrate scum-sucker whose moral dipstick's about two drops short of
bone dry.")

Nick Lea: Krycek has not only been working undercover with the CSM,
but now he's actually been working undercover with the Russians with
the CSM and the FBI.

(Shot of Mulder punching Krycek in the car at the airport.)

Mitch Pileggi: Scum-suckin' pig ...

(Shot of Skinner punching Krycek in the stomach.)

Rob Bowman: In Russia, people who don't want to be used as test
subjects are willing to cut off their left arm.

Nick Lea: And I'm the one-armed, Russian, double-double agent.

(Shots of Krycek awakening, the knife in the fire, and the man with the
knife approaching. Then Krycek screams as his arm is cut off.)

-----

MEMENTO MORI:

(The intro graphics incorrectly spells it 'Momento Mori'.)

Gillian Anderson: In 'Memento Mori', Scully discovers that she has cancer.

(Shot from Scully's dream, of her opening her eyes as the drill descends.
Mulder: "If what you have is a result of your abduction, then those are
facts that should be brought to light." Scully looks at her X-rays.
Scanlon: "You're going to feel like dying." Scully awakens with Penny
Northern at her side.)

Gillian Anderson: She goes through the typical stages of denial and anger.

(Shot of Mulder and Scully apprehending Kurt Crawford. Mulder: "Hey
Scully." Scully: "What?" Mulder touches his nose. Scully touches hers,
finding blood. Scully: "I'm fine, Mulder!" Mulder enters the ova vault
and walks around the aquarium tanks. Scully receives radiation treatment.
CSM turns to Skinner in Mulder's office. Two of the Kurt Crawfords turn to
Mulder.)

Rob Bowman: I don't think we had done a mythology episode that had
gone so far out to the lengths of the conspiracy and the alien hybrids and
come all the way back to this deeply personal moment.

(Shots from the hallway scene. Mulder: "There is a way, and you will find it."
They smile at each other.)

Gillian Anderson: They just have this thing. They're ... I'm not going to
use the word 'soulmates', but you know what? I don't think either of them
would feel like their life were completely whole without the other person.

(Shots of Mulder and Scully in Kurt's apartment, of Mulder entering the
clinic exam room and giving Scully flowers.)

John Shiban: But I thought Gillian made all the right choices and dug deep
for that one.

(Shot of Mulder and Scully embracing in the hallway.
Mulder: "The truth will save you, Scully.")

(The closing graphic gets the spelling of the episode title correct.)

-----

GETHSEMANE:

Frank Spotnitz: On 'The X-Files', we're constantly positing the existence
of alien life and then taking it away.

(Shot of the alien thawing out in the water bath as Mulder and Arlinsky
look on. Mulder and Scully coming down the staircase at the Smithsonian.
Scully: "It's your Holy Grail, Mulder, not mine."
Mulder: "What is that supposed to mean?")

William B. Davis: It's about enigma, it's about uncertainty.

(Shots of Mulder and Scully finding Babcock's body in the water bath.
Kritschgau: "The lies are so deep, the only way to cover them is to create
something even more incredible." Mulder looks at a photo of the alien in
the ice, then cries in his apartment.)

Frank Spotnitz: And we finally said, in 'Gethsemane', let's really take
Mulder's world away from him.

John Shiban: It all comes from this body that's found in the ice, and the
question of whether it's a hoax or not, and whether Mulder's been set up or
whether he's really got the find of the century, whether he's really got proof.

(Shots of the mountains in the Yukon, Mulder and Arlinsky walking through
the snow and finding the alien body in the ice. Mulder looks at X-rays of
the alien, then watches as Arlinsky dissects the body.)

Frank Spotnitz: In the beginning of 'The X-Files', you never saw aliens.
For four and a half years, you had no idea what the conspirators were up
to. To me, 'Two Fathers' and 'One Son' is the delivery of a promise.
Everything is explained.

[caption: Behind the scenes of 'Two Fathers' and 'One Son' coming this
Sunday to FOX]

Kim Manners: We see Krycek in a completely different light. We learn
things about our Agent Spender and Fowley. It's going to close a lot of
doors, answer a lot of questions, yet open another door or two.

(Shots from filming ... A monitor shot of Mulder aiming a gun. The director
calls "Action". Mulder turns and ducks as men in hazmat suits enter.
A man in an encapsulated suit lifts something out a cryogenic tank.
Brief shots of Krycek, Spender, and Fowley. CSM stands next to a
scientific apparatus of some sort. Final shot of crewmen standing in
front of a very bright light.)

-----

REDUX / REDUX 2:

(Shot of Mulder looking at the tables of 'aliens'.)

William B. Davis: In Redux 1 & 2, I am on a campaign to get Mulder to
come over to my side.

(Shots of Mulder and CSM. CSM: "Quit the FBI. Come work for me ...
I can make your problems go away." CSM lights a cigarette in the car
outside the diner.)

William B. Davis: I even produce his sister - perhaps.

(Shot of Samantha getting out of the car. Mulder: "Samantha?")

Frank Spotnitz: As part of the CSM's desire to get him to come to
the dark side ...

(Shot of Mulder entering the restricted part of the Pentagon.
CSM: "And so I have yet to earn your trust.")

Frank Spotnitz: ... he offers Mulder the cure to Scully's cancer.

(Shots of Mulder picking up the vial with the chip, then knocking it into
the petri dish. Mulder: "He promised me it would be in here.")

Gillian Anderson: They figure that by placing it back in her neck that she
could actually be saved from this cancer that she's contracted.

(Shot of Scully holding the vial.
Scully: "I'd like to try this."
Shots of Ma Scully and Mulder.)

Kim Manners: Redux 2 was kind of a peak, if you will, in the mythology,
and I think it gave birth to this two-parter that we're currently working on.
It's the culmination of five years of mythology.

[caption: Behind the scenes of 'Two Fathers' and 'One Son' coming this
Sunday to FOX]

(Shots from filming: the crew, DD in front of the cameras, GA smiling.
Director calls "Action", Mulder and Scully look toward a train. Mulder
fires at it.)

-----

PATIENT X / THE RED AND THE BLACK:

(Shot of the boy at the phone booth with black oil coming from his eyes.
Scully tosses Mulder the newspaper with his quote about "all this
conjecture about little green men - false, dangerous, delusional.")

Frank Spotnitz: Mulder had had his belief in extraterrestrial life taken away.
In 'Patient X' and 'Red and the Black', this is where we find him ... the skeptic.

(Mulder to Scully: "One more anal-probing alien antimatter story and I'm
gonna take out my gun and shoot somebody." The ship hovers over the
bridge and Scully looks up at it. Cassandra to Scully: "You're feeling it too,
aren't you? Here." Cassandra and Scully look at the ship flying over the
bridge.)

Gillian Anderson: She is slowly starting to believe that aliens might
actually exist.

(The bright light is turned on from the ship and it focuses on the bridge.
Cassandra is levitated up to the ship.)

Frank Spotnitz: But there's this woman, Cassandra Spender, who's a very
important test subject, and her son is Jeffrey Spender ...

(Spender to Scully in the hallway: "Special Agent Spender.")

Frank Spotnitz: ... who is an FBI agent. But there's a war going on
between different alien races, and the black oil is on one side and the
faceless rebels are on the other. A collision of forces that is going to
come to a head in 'Two Fathers' and 'One Son'.

(Shots of the ship crashing. A faceless rebel looks up at the bright light.
The beams come from the ship and the rebels are incinerated. Marita lies
on the table with black oil on her eye. The rebels burn people on the bridge
as Scully looks on.)

[caption: Behind the scenes of 'Two Fathers' and 'One Son' coming this
Sunday to FOX]

Gillian Anderson: We get more answers about the aliens, about what
their modus operandi is, how CSM fits into all of this. There's a lot of
information in these two episodes.

(Shots from filming: DD with an unidentified woman, GA laughing with
(I think) Kim Manners, filming a scene in a tunnel, William B. Davis,
makeup being applied to an actor, a bright light behind a group of aliens.)
