Thank You For Visiting Victorian Charm at Camden's Drawing Room! This will be a very interesting site for those you who have a particular interest in Victorian Architecture! The homes and buildings which stemmed from The Victorian Era definitely stand out from most other periods in time. People today still try to recreate the magic through modern versions of Victorian homes. The ornate beauty of this style architecture intrigues me and I have always dreamed of one day purchasing an antique Victorian Home and restoring it to it's original splendor! What a rewarding experience that would be...someday! The main purpose of this page will be to give some examples of Victorian Style Architecture, so that when you notice one of these special homes you will know exactly what "type" to call it. I hope that you enjoy walking through these fine homes with me...

The house to the right is known as the "stick" style. Notice the ornate dressings around the windows and porches. The ornamental dressings on this home are done with paint rather than carvings. This is one of my favorites, I love the multicolor scheme! The turret is also one of my favorite characteristics of Victorian Homes!

The style of this house is known as "Shingle Style" for obvious reasons. Notice the patterned shingles and the inward curved windows. The second story porch is also another familiar characteristic of Victorian Style Design.

Queen Anne Revival, this is one of my favorites! Such fun usage of colors to define the true Victorian spirit! This house combines a complex roof line and wall shapes to set the stage for true ornamental pleasure. This is such a fun house, reminds me of something from a fairytale!

Splendid! That is the word that comes into my mind when I view this magnificent creation! This is a very complex design using all aspects of Victorian Architecture to create something of epic proportions. This style home uses all of the features used in The Queen Anne Revival style, also incorporating earlier ornamental forms. The rounded porches are so inviting, they are traditionally deep and the entryway to the home is offset which gives the house a very unusual geometrical design.
