Ahhh romance!  Our idea of romance, dating, and marriage has evolutionized
in the last 100 years or so!  These pages will show you what flirting, courtship, and marriage
were like during the Victorian Era.  I think that you will find yourself as amazed as I at the
way things were done regarding love and courtship during this era.  Personally I do not
believe that I could ever remember all of the "right" things to do to attract a mate..see what
you think as we glimpse into the past together!

Believe me, during this era flirting was definitely an art form!  The descriptions of "flirting"
during the Victorian Era brings to mind the "dance" that I have watched some birds do
to attract one another.  Flirting wasn't as blatant as it is in today's society..rather it was a series
of subtle cues and body language used to convey ones intent!

Dating or courtship no longer remotely resembles the "ceremony" of the past.  To become
more familiar with one another must have been very difficult under the ever watchful eye of a
chapherone.  Courtship's were often prearranged by the families..that fact in and of itself
makes me glad not to have lived during this period!  Look back with me as we discover what
courtship was all about during the Victorian Era..

I think that you will be impressed with the ceremony placed on engagement's and marriage
during the Victorian Era!  Some of the rituals have survived and are practiced today, but
many things have been adapted or completely forgotten.  Let's not be late for the wedding..
