My Rainbow Mountain Weekend
It all began Thursday night when I did my nails. They were long and painted lavender. I awaited the following day when I would leave for a weekend en femme. Having the day off from work, I spent the morning as every girl does, packing and getting myself ready.I had a bad start leaving at three o'clock, I hit much traffic and it took me three and a half hours to get there, but when I did, I was in heaven. Walking up to the door I met Erin, the woman I spent most of my adventure with. I had the opportunity now to relax and meet some of the other girls in attendance. This is when I met Carol and Evie, two more adventurers. My friend Alexis would join us on Saturday and our party was complete. After changing for dinner, I met up with Erin and dined. What a delightful meal it was. Following dinner, Erin and I went to the lounge where kareoke was on the menu. Erin sang, I didn't (that night). Saturday morning I met up with Alexis and she went to get dressed. During her absense I had breakfast with two couples from CDM and Erin. After breakfast, Carol Evie, Erin, Alexis, and I congregated on the porch not yet knowing how wonderful of a day we were about to have.
We ventured from the safety of the resort. I was quite comfortable with this, being that I go out often. We went to lunch for one o'clock at a local resaurant called Shannon's, and Irish pub and grill. We walked into an empty restaurant greeted with a smile and treated like ladies. Little did we know the lunch rush was just beginning. It took about twenty minutes to fill the place and we were smack right in the middle. It was wonderful. We went back to the resort and picked up our cameras. we did what everybody does on a ninty degree Saturday, we visited Bushkill Falls. Hundreds of people about, silly me wore heels(I don't own flats, but now I have something to go shopping for :-) Again we had a great time, just wait till you see the pictures. We found several ATM machines that wouldn't take my card. We went back to the resort for a shower and to get changed for dinner.
We ate quickly so we could get back to prepare ourselves for the fshion show. I lost the conservative look that I had donned all weekend for a sexy black dress. after parading around the room and watching my sisters so the same, we went to the kareoke bar again where two comediennes were going to perform. It was during this time that I had to sing. During the afternoon, carol asked me to go to church with her and her wife on Sunday, I said sure. She asked Erin the same, she had to think about it. I then said to Erin "If you go to church with us tomorrow, I will sing tonight" She immediately agreed and that brings us back to my singing. Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" was my selection. the comediennes were entertaining, then off to bed. getting up Sunday for church was a chore. In the rain, we went to church. The sermon was about accepting others and to treat everyone with respect. Going back for breakfast and packing was sad. I signed out and made a reservation for the next CD weekend in October to ensure that I would get the same room again. We all departed going our seperate ways, forever being connected by the memories. We exchanged E-mail addresses and good byes.
This was a tremendous experience for me, from which I learned a great deal about myself and the woman I truly am. This weekend gave me the confidence I needed to face the world and say, "hey, look at me, I am special and I am proud to be a woman!"
This past Friday night I had the opportunity to attend a meeting where Brenda, Tom and i had the opportunity to teach others what TG is all about. I want to write about the exoerience but I haven't the time right now, so afte work I will write about it!
