start atkins-399/298/180. (as of August 1/00)
My Size Stats: 32/26/16.
I started Atkins on 7/7/99.
I test purple.
I restrict myself to 20 - 30 grams of carbs and the scale, it is my worst nightmare in an eating plan.I will not weigh. I will measure my success by the size of clothing and my daily Ketosis reading.

My exercise regime:

  • Brisk Walking everyday

What I usually eat in a day:

  • Breakfast:
    • 2 Sausage patties from McDonalds, 1 Sugar Free Hazel Nut Iced Latte from Java Jet
  • Lunch:
    • Salad with Chicken or Shrimp or Meat and Cheese
  • Dinner:
    • Meat - variety, Tomato, 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • Snacks:
    • Pumpkin Seeds
    • Porkrinds
    • Carb free cheese
    • Almonds
    • Sugar Free Lattes/Cappuccino
    • Sugar Free Sodas

My favorite recipe:

  • One Boiled Chicken Breast diced. 4 ounces thin sliced ham (no carb) diced.
    Fry in 3 tlbsp of real butter until ham begins to brown. add 2 slices of cheese and cover to melt. Once melted add 2 tblsp of mayonaise to make cheese sauce smoother.
    Stir mixture till all meat is coated. This mixture reminds me of my days at the Restaurants that made a chicken breast wrapped in ham, smothered in cheese and served with CARBS. Now I can have it and it's fatty, but ever so satisfying.

My inspiration:

  • I have done EVERYTHING to loose weight. I am the receipient of the Gastric Bypass, which helped me loose 135 lbs. I still have many more to loose but the surgery could only do so much I am using the Atkins diet to obtain my goal in conjunction with the results of the surgery. I am inspired each day as I test myself and find Purple to dark Purple readings. My inspiration to stay on track has been my grown daughter. A simple statement to my grandson, about a birthday cake, saying "I can't have it", was corrected with "Grandma has decided not to have it"...this has been my encouragement, "I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO HAVE IT"!

My goals:

  • Take a vacation that requires a lot of walking
  • Buy new clothes
  • Enjoy gardening

Have you experienced any negative effects:

  • None thus far!

My comments:
I believe Atkins is the most satisfying diet I've ever tried I know many may think my surgery is the reason for loosing weight, but my experience with the surgery, even though it was considered successful, was not all I had hoped it would be. I look forward now to accomplishing my goal, because of the weight I've already lost. I have gone from a size 32 to a size 26 since July 7, 1999. That's success!!!!!
