Meet Graeme J
Email: grae-and(at)@clear(dot).net(dot).nz
I make my home in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
I visit the board daily.
My Stats: 110kg (242lb)/100kg (220lb)/85kg (187lb).
I usually test light purple.
I started Atkins on August 99.
I restrict myself to under 20 grams of carbs and Aspertame, Saccharin, Citric Acid, Nitrates, MSG.

My exercise regime:

  • I do a fair amount of walking. For the first two months I worked out on a treadmill for twenty minutes a day but it got too boring so I just try to keep reasonably active.

What I usually eat in a day:

  • Bacon and Eggs for breakfastÊ - fish and salad for lunch - meat and green vegetables for dinner. Snacks-Ê boiled eggs, cheese, macadamia nuts.Ê DrinksÊ water, coffee and cream. Treat: DietCoke

My favorite recipe:

  • I like to keep things really simple so I eat plain food.

My inspiration:

  • I have this large mirror in my hallway...everytime I walk through the house I am confronted by this large person that can't possibly be me.

My goals:

  • For eight years my sex-life has been completely ruined by my overweight... I wouldn't mind trying it once more before I die!

Have you experienced any negative effects:

  • At the beginning I felt quite unwell for a few days. Then for a couple of weeks I felt deprived and a bit left out of the human race especially in the supermarket where there didn't seem to be anything I could buy. Constipation didn't help! But then things sort of evened out and now I really quite like the food.Ê Now bread tastes bland and cardboardy and sugar tastes cloying and unpleasant.

I don't have a picture.

My comments:
The Atkins Diet is pretty strict and I think for people who like lots of variety in their diet it must be quite hard-going. I've always liked plain food so I find it suits me.
