I usually test purple.
I started Atkins and Protein Power on 7/8/99.
I restrict myself to under 20 grams of carbs and Dairy.

My exercise regime:

  • I exercise to feel better.Ê When I go for my hour long walk (at night)I sleep better, get up earlier (I am not a morning person!) and I am able to think clearly during the day.

What I usually eat in a day:

  • I eat a lot of chicken, beef, eggs, and so forth.Ê I don't eat fish, but I take cod liver oil in supplement form.Ê I just started eating the Atkins bars (at first which I thought were horrible) but the Praline Crunch is great.Ê I drink a lot of water and ice tea.Ê One of the hardest things I thought in the beginning would be giving up my regular coke.Ê Not true!Ê I don't have cravings for it at all!!!!

My favorite recipe:

  • Chicken with grilled peppers.Ê
    Simple: just cook some chicken in one pan and fry some peppers (in a bit of olive oil or your favorite oil) until they start to turn dark brown or black.Ê Throw some pinenuts in the mixture if you are so inclined.Ê Tastes great!

My inspiration:

  • My entire office is on this WOE.Ê I couldn't cheat at work if I tried!!Ê My husband is doing it too so we donated all of our nonperishable, lowfat food to the homeless and now we only stock the food we need.

Have you experienced any negative effects:

  • Some mis-informed people have been negative about my eating (I ask - why the heck should they care what I put into my mouth?) and in some cases downright rude to me.Ê I can't remember if I read it in the Atkins or Protein Power book, but one of these two books recommends keeping your plan to yourself.Ê When people ask me now what I am doing, I just say I am sugar intolerant and that I have removed sugar from my diet.
