That's the list... *laughs* Now just don't ask me to list all the musicals recordings I have.
I've been -extremely- lucky to have had the chance to see so many shows (Here's a hug for my parents for all the help they've been -- HUG). I've loved them all. I'm often asked which was my favorite. That's such a hard question to answer... they all have their pluses and minuses (hey, I'm a math major *grins*). I think Phantom of the Opera is one I'll always hold dear to my heart, though.
Hear some sound clips from some of my favorite musicals:
Susan Egan
Judy Kuhn
Colm Wilkinson
Adrienne McEwan
In case anyone is interested, I can list some recordings that you can hear them on (except Adrienne, because I don't know of any she is on. She was the alternate Christine in NYC for a while, and she was phenomenal).
Susan Egan: OBC Beauty and the Beast (Belle)
Disney's Hercules (Megara)
Sondheim at the Movies (Varese Sarabande album)
Peter Pan (Varese Sarabande album)
Drat! the Cat! (Alice Van Guilder -- studio cast recording)
Coming Soon: OBC Triumph of Love
Colm
Wilkinson: OBC Les Miserables (Jean Valjean)
OLC Les Miserables (Jean Valjean)
Dream Cast Les Miserables (Jean Valjean)
Canadian CR Phantom of the Opera (Phantom)
Stage Heroes (Colm Wilkinson solo album)
Judy Kuhn: OBC Les Miserables (Cosette)
Dream Cast Les Miserables (Cosette)
Metropolis (Maria)
OBC Chess (Florence)
Disney's Pocahontas (singing voice Pocahontas)
Just In Time (Judy Kuhn solo album)
World Premiere Sunset Boulevard (Betty Schaeffer)
That's
enough to give a taste, anyways. I encourage anyone to listen to some of
their work. C'est fantastique. (No, I don't really speak French, even though
I suppose I should)
Confession time:
I haven't actually met Susan Egan or Judy Kuhn, I got their autpgraphs
by alternative means. I have met all the rest, though. Thank you to Susan
Egan, though, for all the kindness she's shown me. She's a very special
person.
I love musicals, I love talking about musicals, and most of all, I love having opinions on musicals *grins*. Here they are.
And
The Winners Are......
Disclaimer:
These are solely my personal opinions, and I'm no expert. I'm not even
sure if I totally agree with some of my own decisions *grins*
