Lyrics to "Danny Boy"

a/k/a The Londonderry Air

I am VERY weary of hearing my favorite song sung with the wrong lyrics! Here, for those interested, are the correct lyrics!

"Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling,
From glen to glen, and down the mountainside,
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back, when summer's in the meadow,
Or all the valley's hushed and white with snow,
Tis I'll be here, in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
But when ye come, and all the flow'r's are dying,
If I am dead, and dead I well may be,
Then come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel -- and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, though soft ye tread above me,
And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be;
If you will bend, and tell me that you love me,
Then I will sleep, in peace, until you come to me."
