The First Annual Bat-N-Rouge Softball Tournament

Held during the weekend of Coronation 14, the First Annual Bat-N-Rouge Softball Tournament was a great success. The game was organized by our current Imperial Crown Prince Elvin Harkins, and featured a team of women who regularly play in a women's league against a team of queens and out-of-town guests of the RSIC. Though they led after the first two innings, the heat under the wigs and makeup began to get to the queens, and despite lots of trash-talking by their catcher, Empress 6 Twyla Knight, the Queen Bees suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Stinger Stompers. One of the real women was heard commenting that they had a tournament to play in the next weekend, and they wouldn't be able to show their faces if they were beaten by a bunch of queens. Oh well, at least they had nothing on us when it came to fashion! And nearly $200 was donated to the Fayette County AIDS Medication Fund.

Empress 15 Natalie Gaye hits a grand slam (well, maybe not, but doesn't her mumuu look fierce?).

Trash-talking catcher Empress 6 Twyla Knight. How she kept from being ejected from the game we'll never know.

Imperial Princess Royal 15 Tina Camaro shows that softball players can be feminine too.

Friend of the Court Miss Belva Beaumont is flawless in her official University of Kentucky custodian's uniform.
