Okay, here comes the Proust questionnaire. It was inspired by the one on the Shtupman's site, but I think I found this version somewhere on the net:
What is your current state
of mind?
Tired and a little
lonely but pretty serene.
What
do you consider your greatest achievement?
Getting into this
Ph.D. program.
When
and where were you the happiest?
My second weekend with
Ricky in NYC.
What
is your idea of perfect happiness?
Living with my beloved
Ricky, doing a little research, doing a little teaching, not
having money worries.
Which
historical figure do you most identify with?
None
really, I like Winston though.
Which
living person do you most admire?
My friend ß, my dad,
and my dissertation adviser.
What
is your greatest extravagance?
Drinking 1.5 gallons
of carbonated water a day (if you knew how much it costs
in this fucking town, you'd understand)..
What
is your most treasured posession?
My pictures and
memorabilia of Ricky.
What
is your greatest fear?
Not to make it in my
chosen field.
What
is your favorite journey?
To NYC in the summer.
Which
living person do you most despise?
Sen. Jesse Helms, but
Gary Bauer of the so-called "Family Research Council"
is a close second--a true wolf in sheep's clothing.
Which
words or phrases do you most overuse?
"I
mean"
What
or who is the greatest love of your life?
Ricky, Ricky, Ricky.
What
do you most dislike about your appearance?
My nose, my lack of
muscle tone.
Which
talent would you most like to have?
Appreciate
music, maybe even make music. This may seem weird to many of you,
but music doesn't mean a lot to me. I can use it for pleasant
background noise but it doesn't affect me, never has.
If
you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd
become patient.
What
is it that you most dislike?
That
I can't see my boyfriend every day.
How
would you like to die?
Quickly,
painlessly and in Ricky's arms.
If
you were to die and come back as another person or thing, what do
you think it would be?
Who says I want to come
back?
If
you could choose what to come back as, what would it be?
cf. above
What
is your motto?
As
my grandmother liked to say: "Man kann dumm sein, man muss
sich nur zu helfen wissen." (You don't have to be smart,
just resourceful.)
