Find Serenity in the Tao
Fill your bowl to the brim and it spills over.
Keep sharpening your knife and it becomes blunt.
Chase after money and security and your heart tightens.
Care about people's approval and you are imprisoned by it.
Do your own work, then stand back.
This is the path to serenity.
I find myself hurrying after things I don't want, and worrying
myself about things I don't care about.
I have enjoyed discovering Taoism as a way of becoming,
spiritual, in the sense of re-tuning
myself to the natural way of the world, simplifying my thoughts
and my life, and beginning to see a way out of the compulsive,
activities that so many people find
themselves stuck in. We do these things to avoid looking within, and
becoming at peace with ourselves.
I wish you the peace that comes from living in harmony with our universe.
