What to do, what to do.

The term 'Basket Case' is from the American Civil War, when a soldier was rumored to have lost all his limbs and had to be carried home in a basket. Even though there are no records of that happening to any solder, this trooper serves as a great example.

How big must a basket be to hold an X1/9?

Um, pretty big.

Damaged directional on the left side, missing grill and sheet metal, and rubber 'air dam'.

Needs headlight bucket respray on both sides, and on the nose (not visible in this photo.) Also a small dent on the fender near the left headlight.

Broken hood cable, and a pair of rust spots under the windshield frame.

The interior, in pretty good shape.

The dash and interior, no problems here.
I had to be sure it still fit!

2k mi on a rebuilt head, 60k mi on the block.

Uh-oh. What's that on the horizon?

This is the limited "Captain Crunch" edition!
The decklid needs a complete strip and respray, too.

Here's reason for a respray on the decklid.

3/4 of an Ansa, missing the rear grille and valence.
Yep, that's a gear oil leak.

an aproximate project list :
> quarterpanel replacement + respray
> marker light in cornerpanel
> windshield
> electrical work (nothing on the column works)
> front grill, front plastic air dam, metal backing
> front driving light lens (orange)
> front hood release cable
> clutch bleed (hope no master problems- leak??)
> transmission - fill often, or replace internal gasket
> rear grill, sheet metal bottom plate
> repaint front nose section (touch-up)
> repaint rear trunk (strip & start fresh)
> a bit of bondo on the doors for the jack-marks
> one of the quad-ansa tips has fallen off
> speedo cable connection on transmission is mangled
> both interior 'in the door' lights have cracked lenses
> binding release for driver's door
> ...and the power windows are... funky somehow. I forgot exactly..
