These pictures were all taken just inside the entrance to the back forty acre pasture. The back forty is located behind the main house and is seperated from the house by a tree line. There is also an additional thirty acre pasture (not pictured) behind the house. The picture on the right is the front edge of the forty acre pasture. RedDog is sitting just inside the pasture. The picture on the left is taken from the same spot, but facing the front of the farm. The picture does not do them justice, but there are four absolutely stunning white oak trees at the front edge of the pasture. |
The lower picture is Flewsey Hollar. My sister-in-law layed claim to this grove of trees as soon as she saw it and it is named in her honor. I must admit, it is one of the most beautiful spots on the farm. The picture is taken from the same spot, but looking back over my left shoulder as I walked into the pasture. The back forty acres are part of a reclaimed strip mine. The top soil in the back forty acres is still very delicate and continues to be closely monitored.
