Here is the beginning of my biography

I was born in Chicago in 1974 to two struggling artists, the first of three children. From an early age I had a lot of difficulty adjusting to this new game of life. It was just past the age of 2, when I still couldn't speak, that my parents decided to get help for me--based upon a suggestion from a friend. I seemed to be uttering sounds in an organized manner, but none of it was coherent. The took me to Northwestern University's child development center (I like to say I first attended college when I was 2), when it was determined that I was speaking a language, but it was a language I had invented. The faculty was unsure why I had not learned English, attributing the cause to a possible ear infection, but it was evident that I was attempting to communicate. From my side of the picture I was having grand conversations with my imaginary friend, but couldn't understand why the big people looked at me so funny. Remember those Charlie Brown cartoons where the adults sound like they're underwater? This was something like how I spoke; early tapes of myself sound like a distant Pig Latin dialect, but totally incomprehensible. I hated going to Northwestern, as it was a long and tedious process to teach me to speak, but after a year or so it was over.

This is obviously under construction. Please check back later.
