Figure Skating

I started figure skating on ice relatively late in life (age 22), so I can sympathise with other adult skaters. It is hard, and often frustrating, not to mention embarrassing. You look at the 10 year old at practice who is doing moves that you can only dream of with envy. Lots. Sometimes it helps to realise that a lot of the skaters that you are watching have been skating longer than you have, as well as realising that they are less afraid of getting hurt than you are. It is worth persisting. Really. The feeling you get when you perfect that jump or spin that you've been working on for the last few months makes it worthwhile.

I'm going to post a few photos of myself, and some of the other skaters from my rink, just to show that there are others out there, and to show myself off, as well! The scans are taking a while, and at the moment, there are only two of them.
