Labour Day Game!
6 September 1999 - Ivor Wynne Stadium, Hamilton, Ontario

Every year, the Candian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats play host to the hated arch-rival Toronto Argonaughts on Labour Day.  This year, the Thunderbirds were asked to help out with serving concessions at the game - I guess even the Tiger-Cats have heard the legend...

Actually, the deal was that if we helped out with the concessions, the team would make a donation to our Mexico Moot fund for an amount equivalent to what we would have earned if we were employees.  So, in about 4 days, Laura and Lumberman scraped together all the help they could, which turned out to be around a dozen people.

Those helping out were Laura, Lumberman, Wildman, Heather, Kyle, Bortz, Cory, Allison, Todd, Qweak, and Rosella (Lumberman's friend from high school.)  Thanks to everyone for giving a hand - especially those not going to Mexico next summer!

Our jobs included serving at the concession booths, hawking pop and chips in the stands, and serving beer at the beer stands.  Even though it was a lot of work, it was kind of fun too and we raised a lot of money.  Thanks to the Tiger-Cats for their support!  Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of this event - we were too busy pouring beverages and sweeping up!
