My '98 Deer Season
Well I had a pretty good year this year, both in Maine and in Vermont. Bow season was promising and I had my chances, but passed up on some deer and just ran out of time. Rifle season was great in Vermont, Maine and for the first time New Hampshire.

Here are the two deer that I got on the first day of the Vermont season. The 4 pt weighed 138 lbs, and I got him at 8 in the morning. The 5 pt weighed 128 lbs and I got him at 4 in the afternoon in New Hampshire.

This deer was kind of a legend in our camp in Maine. We had hunted his father years ago until he died of old age, and we had been hunting this guy for about 4 years. No one had ever seen him, but we knew that he was in there by the scrapes and hooking that he was leaving. He has 17 points and weighed 216 lbs dressed.
