Here's a picture of a 12 pionter my dad shot in '91. It was a deer that was on the decline. It dressed out at 180 lbs which is small for a deer with those size horns in Maine. It is a real old deer that only had one tooth left when dad shot it. Biologists took the tooth and tried to age it but were unable to because of the amount of wear it had taken. They believed, like we did that the deer wouldn't have made it through, to another year. The harsh Maine winters would have claimed it like it has done to many before it.
