What goes up must

Want rock climbing with a difference? At RUSH we offer you a great rock climbing getaway which includes Rock-Climbing, Downhill Mountain Biking and Whitewater Canoeing. Our Lead Rock-Climbing Guide Brent is always out and about looking for new climbing challenges.

Brent has many years’ experience in all outdoor pursuits having 5 years rock climbing experience, being a competitor in the Polaris Challenge and a fully ticketed deep-sea diver.

At RUSH we try to give you the best chance to catch inland freshwater fish. Targeted species include Yellow Belly, Bass, Silver Perch, Saratoga, Inland Cod and other pelagic species. Most of fishing is done on the Nymboida River. We like to float downstream stopping now and then in our secret spots for some fly and lure fishing action.

Full on Adrenaline Week-end

This is a three-day adventure getaway featuring all our core activities. We leave the Gold Coast early on Day1 and head for our destination of Nymboida, a small logging town in northern NSW.

On arrival at the Nymboida Canoe Centre we settle in to our basic, but comfortable cabins, and have a bite of lunch. After lunch we head off on the first of our Adrenaline Sessions, Whitewater Canoeing on Goolang Creek. Goolang Creek is a hydroelectric fed tributary of the Nymboida River. The rapids here range from grade 1 through to grade 4 giving us plenty of scope for your groups skill levels and courage.

Now it is time for a hard-earned drink around the campfire before dinner. We then get the fire roaring and spend the evening reminiscing about the day’s events.

It’s early rise at 6am for some fishing up on the Nymboida River, we put in upstream of the township of Nymboida and float down stream. Occasionally stopping to fish the proven snags. We pull out Nymboida where we return to NCC for Brunch.

Now it’s time for Adrenaline Session 2 Downhill Mountain Biking after arriving at our Mountain Biking venue we take you through the basics and start you off on our Novice tracks. From there we progress to our Intermidate tracks and if you like you can have a go at the Expert. This is fast really fast reaching speeds of up to 80km/h and jumps where you travel 20-30m before touching the ground.

Then its back to the NCC for dinner, after dinner we head down to the local hotel for a couple of drinks and a game of pool.

Eight am and it’s time to get up and have some breakfast before we head off for some more mountain biking but this time we head for our technical venue. Technical Mountain Biking is going through tight twist tracks and generally it’s downhill.

We then return to NCC for our last Adrenaline Session of Whitewater Canoeing. We start at the top of the Agrade section at Goolang Creek (grades3&4) and travel down stream 4kms to a BBQ lunch. After lunch we head off down to the junction of Goolang Creek and Blaxland Creek.

Around 4pm we leave the NCC and head for home, arriving back on the Gold Coast around 8pm.

You have the choice Platinum or Gold, Platinum being fully catered and transported getaway, this being the most expensive.

Then we have our Gold Getaways being  transported saving up to $100.00 per person off the Platinum price.

Your safety is our Number one

Due to RUSHs strict safety policy group sizes are restricted six people. We feel this to be a manageable group size with three guides. Yes that’s right one guide per two clients.

Every Group needs

Every group needs a leader, have you got what it takes? At RUSH we like our groups to have a leader. By having a Group Leader it makes liaison and logisticts that much easier. If you are interested in being the Group Leader of your party just let us know and we will send you your LEADER PACK.

A few short facts

Nymboida being located near Grafton shares a similar weather pattern to that of the Gold Coast but being inland it get slightly more cooler at night (12-20).

The Nymboida Canoe Centre is located on Goolang Creek, which is a tributary of the Nymboida River. A hydro-electricity plant feeds Goolang creek upstream from NCC.

Flow rates of the creek during generation time vary from between 60%and 85%. This means a rise in creek levels of about 1-2metres so care is need around the creek at all times, as water levels can change very rapidly.

Whitewater in Goolang Creek ranges from grade 1 up to grade 4. Most of the whitewater canoeing we will be doing is grade 2 and 3. Don’t worry if you’ve never canoed before you’ll have a fully accredited Whitewater Canoeing Instructor with you in the boat.

Fishing on the Nymboida River is you typical inland freshwater fare, with Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and Saratoga just a few varieties present in the river. The Nymboida River is just a short drive from the NCC so fishing is readily accessible at any time.
