FIRST GENERATION

1.  Abraham BOLT was born on 24 Aug 1764 in FauquierCo.,Virginia. 
He died on 9 Aug 1839 in Laurens Co., S.C. He is buried in the
Old Bolt/Calhoun cemetery in  Hickory Tavern, SC. Abraham served 
in the Revolutionary War. 
Abraham BOLT and Jane __ had the following children:

	4	iii.	Edmund BOLT was born on 17 May 1786.  
                        He was married to Mary __.

SECOND GENERATION

3.  John Lewis BOLT Sr. was born on 30 Mar 1784 in Laurens Co.,
S.C. He died on 9 May 1867 in Laurens Co., S.C. He was buried in
Rabun Creek Baptist Church, Hickory Tavern, Laurens Co., SC.  

He was married to Nancy LINDLEY (daughter of Thomas LINDLEY and
Elizabeth __).  Nancy LINDLEY was born in 1788.  She died in 
1875.  John Lewis BOLT Sr. and Nancy LINDLEY had the following 
children:

	12	ii.	Elizabeth BOLT was born on 10 Apr 1810 in
                        S. C. and died on 22 Oct 1883.
	13	iii.	William BOLT was born on 6 Aug 1811 and

	14	iv.	Jane (Jenny or Jinny) BOLT was born on 2
                        Dec 1812 in South Carolina.  She died on 
                        11 Sep 1887 in Rome, Floyd County, Ga.
	15	v.	Amy BOLT was born about 1814 in S.C.
	16	vi.	Mary (Polly) BOLT was born about 1814 in
                        South Carolina.
	17	vii.	Hannah BOLT. She was married to Henry 
                        HENDERSON.
	18	viii.	Isom BOLT was born about 1820.  He died
                        before 1863.
	19	ix.	James Saxon BOLT was born on 15 Mar 1822.
	20	x.	Sarah BOLT. She was married to __ HANLEY.

THIRD GENERATION

11.  Asa BOLT was born on 23 May 1808 in Laurens Co., S.C.  He
died on 20 Feb 1876 in Anderson Co., S.C.  He was buried in 
Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.

1841-1882:
Mr. Asa Bolt an aged citizen of this County, died at his 
residence  from an attack of fever. Mr. Bolt was near 80 years of 
age and up to the time of his late sickness was very active and 
strong for a man of his years.

He was married to Hannah CROMBIE or possibly ABERCROMBIE. Hannah 
ABERCROMBIE was born on 22 Nov 1808 in Laurens Co., S.C.  She died 
on 24 Jun 1891 in Anderson Co., S.C.  She was buried in Asbury 
Methodist Church Cemetery.  Asa BOLT and Hannah ABERCROMBIE had the 
following children:

	31	i.	William BOLT was born  30 Jun 1830 in 
                        Laurens, Co., SC.  He died February12, 
                        1920 in Anderson County. SC. .  He served
                        in the Civil War in CSA Company G 22nd 
                        Infantry.
       +32	ii.	Toliver BOLT.
	33	iii.	John K BOLT was born on 21 Apr 1834 in 
                        Laurens County, SC.  He died on 27 Feb 
                        1872. He served in the Civil War in the 
                        CSA 6th SC Cavalry.
	34	iv.	Thomas BOLT was born in 1836 in Laurens 
                        County, SC.  He died on 30 Jul 1864.  He 
                        was killed while serving in the  Civil 
                        War--CSA Company G 22nd Infantry.
	35	v.	Crombie (Calvin) BOLT was born about 1837
                        in Laurens County, SC.  He died on 9 May 
                        1864.  He was killed in battle while 
                        serving in the Civil War-- Company L 
                        Orr's Rifles.
	36	vi.	Abram BOLT was born on 12 May 1839 in 
                        Laurens County, SC.  He died on 29 Apr 
                        1910 in Anderson County, SC.  He served 
                        in the Civil War-- CSA  Company G. 22nd 
                        Infantry S.
	37	vii.	Lewis Martin BOLT was born about 1841 in 
                        Laurens County, SC.  He died of 
                        influenza/fever while serving in the 
                        Civil War--CSA Company L Orr's Rifles, 
                        1st SC.
	38	viii.	Edmund BOLT was born about 1842 in 
                        Laurens County, SC.  He died on 27 Jul 
                        1862 in Richmond, Va.  He died of fever/
                        influenza while serving in the Civil
                        War--Company L 1st SC, Orr's Rifles.
	39	ix.	Elizabeth (Jane) BOLT was born about  
                        1844.
	40	x.	Oliver (Duck) BOLT was born on 25 Apr 
                        1847 in Laurens County, SC.  He died on 
                        11 Dec 1922.  He served in the State 
                        Militia during the Civil War.
	41	xi.	Mary Caroline BOLT was born in 1848.
	42	xii.	Theresa Adeline BOLT was born after 1850.


FOURTH GENERATION

32.  Toliver BOLT was born on 3 Mar 1833 in Laurens County, SC. 
He died on 6 Nov 1903 in Anderson County, SC.  He served in the 
Civil War in CSA Co. G. 22nd Infantry.  He was married to Nancy 
Marie PRITCHARD (daughter of __ PRITCHARD and Harriett __).  Nancy 
Marie PRITCHARD was born in South Carolina.  She died in South 
Carolina.  Toliver BOLT and Nancy Marie PRITCHARD had the 
following children:

FIFTH GENERATION

68.  William Lewis (W.Lewis) BOLT was born on 10 Nov 1858 in 
Centerville, Anderson Co., S.C.  He died on 16 Jun 1945 in 
Centerville, Anderson Co.,  S.C.  He was buried in New Prospect 
Baptist Church Cemetery, Anderson, SC. He was a police officer on
the Anderson Police Force, a grocery store owner, and a farmer. 
W. Lewis had arteriosclerosis.  He died as a result of a heart 
attack. He was married to Hester Jane Shirley. 
Hester Jane  SHIRLEY (daughter of James Humphries SHIRLEY and 
Matilda Elizabeth JONES) was born on 18 Oct 1858 in Centerville, 
Anderson Co., S.C.  She died on 15 Feb 1943 in Centerville, 
Anderson Co., S.C.  Hester Bolt had Bright's Disease.  She died 
as a result of pneumonia, following a fall at home during which 
she broke her hip. She is buried in the New Prospect Baptist 
Church Cemetery in Anderson Co., S.C.  William Lewis BOLT and 
Hester Jane SHIRLEY had the following children:

       +85	i.	Olive Christine  BOLT.
	86	ii.	Myrtle Irene BOLT was born on 20 Aug 
                        1882.  She died in Dec 1971 in Anderson, 
                        South Carolina. She worked as a milliner 
                        in Anderson.  Later she owned and 
                        operated a dairy farm. 
	87	iii.	Bertha Ethyl (Nance) BOLT was born on 26 
                        Apr 1885.  She died on 21 Jul 1975 in 
                        Anderson, S.C. She worked as a milliner. 
	88	iv.	Harriett Elizabeth BOLT was born on 11 
                        Sep 1890 in Anderson, South Carolina.  
                        She died in Jun 1985 in Toccoa, Ga. She 
                        worked in the Anderson Library during 
                        World War I and as a milliner in 
                        Gainesville, Georgia.
	89	v.	James Rufus, Sr. BOLT was born on 19 Sep 
                        1892 in Anderson Co., S.C..  He died in 
                        Aug 1971 in Anderson Co., S.C.
	90	vi.	Gladys Ruth (Jimmie) BOLT was born in 
                        Anderson, South Carolina. She received a
                        Batchelor's degree at Winthrop College, 
                        a Master's at Peabody College and did 
                        further graduate work at Columbia. She 
                        taught during summers at Appalachan State
                        Teacher's College in Boone, North 
                        Carolina.
	91	vii.	Geneva BOLT was born in Anderson , S.C.
                        She died in Anderson , S.C. when she was
                        13 years old of rheumatic fever.
	92	viii.	Jane MOREHEAD was born on 12 May 1906 in 
                        Anderson Co., S.C..  She died in Jun 1972
                        in Clemson, SC.  Jane was actually the 
                        daughter of Ellen and Walter Morehead, 
                        but raised as a daughter by her uncle and
                        aunt,  W. Lewis Bolt and Hester Bolt.  
                        It is believed that her mother died in 
                        childbirth or shortly thereafter.  Her 
                        father asked Ellen's brother to raise her
                        and she grew up with their family. Walter
                        never gave the family permission to 
                        legally adopt her.


SIXTH GENERATION

85.  Olive Christine  BOLT was born on 15 Jun 1881 in Anderson 
Co., S.C..  She died on 16 Nov 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia. She had 
Scarlet Fever as a child and lost sight in one of her eyes at 
that time.  She began a career as a teacher at 18 years of age. 
She lived in Westminster, S.C. after her marriage until a few weeks 
before her death, at which time she went to stay at the home of her 
son, Harry, in Atlanta, Ga. 
She was married to William Pinckney  CLELAND (son of Elihu 
Henderson CLELAND and Martha Ann (Mattie) WATT) June 15 , 1913.  
William Pinckney  CLELAND was born on 15 Dec 1862.  He died on 6 
Oct 1934. Olive Christine  BOLT and William Pinckney  CLELAND had 
the following children:

	+102	i.	Harry Henderson CLELAND.
         103	ii.	James Reval (Reval) CLELAND  was born in
                        Oconee Co,  Westminster, South Carolina.
                        He died on 4 Aug 1944 in Savannah, 
                        Georgia.  He was buried in Lutheran 
                        Church Cemetery, Walhalla, SC. Reval  
                        enlisted in the US Air Corp in March, 
                        1943.  He was killed in a plane crash at
                        Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia.  He had 
                        been transferred there a week before the 
                        crash.  He was married to Edna KLAREN.


SEVENTH GENERATION

102.  Harry Henderson  CLELAND was born on 7 Jun 1914 in Oconee 
Co,  Westminster, South Carolina.  He died on 18 Oct 1979 in 
Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Westminster High School in 
1932. He attended Appalachian State College for one year.  He 
worked as a sales representative for a number of paint companies 
in Columbia, founded and owned Cleland Construction Company in 
Columbia, SC and later worked for Harbor Plywood Company .  He 
moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1956.  In Atlanta he worked in 
carpentry and also held sales positions, the last being with 
Shedd Brown, Inc.  He met Allie when he was in the  Columbia 
Hospital for an appendectomy. He was active in Beecher Hills 
Baptist Church in Atlanta for many years. His death was due to 
cancer.  He was cremated and his ashes were spread in the rose 
garden at Mt. Harmony Cemetery at the old Atlanta Crematory on 
the Bankhead Highway in  Atlanta, Georgia .

He was married to Martha Allie  SUBER (daughter of John Samuel 
Jefferson (Jeff) SUBER Jr. and Sara Elizabeth (Sadie) RABB) on 25 
Aug 1940.  Martha Allie  SUBER was born on 26 Sep 1917 in 
Fairfield County, South Carolina.  She died on 7 Nov 1997 in 
Cumming, Georgia.  Allie grew up in Strother and Newberry, South 
Carolina.  She graduated from Newberry High School in 1935.  She 
graduated from nursing school at Columbia Hospital in Columbia, 
SC. in 1937. Harry Henderson  CLELAND and Martha Allie  SUBER 
had the following children:
