    Uniqueness : Open-Membership Group

Since its establishment, Group 06005-06006 (Pramuka
ITB) has been dedicated to be an open group : everyone from any education/ social background are invited to be its member - since elementary, high school, up to student from other University or even drop-out people. It is a rare occasion, since in Indonesia, the activities of Scouting Group which based at the University, are mainly from, by, and for the students, not to other. Scouting is treated as any other university extra curricular Activity Units such as Sport Units (swimming, athletic, self defense, etc.), Art Units (Regional Art Unit, Drama,  Comedy, etc.), or Educational Units (English Forum, Nature Lover, Military Student, etc) .

    The Difference (and Competitive Advantage)

    Technology, art, and science
as ITB's approach are declared to color Pramuka ITB's activity. Since 1979, we started to cooperate with affiliated technology agency . E.g. : National Physics Agency, National Science Agnecy, and Development Technology Center. All units also often make a visit to certain department of ITB. To learn waste water treatment, to train skill in creating water heater, and even to masterize computing and telecommunication technology. Even cub and brownies are introduced to be familiar with technology as early as possible through the process to earn their ranks.

In 1981, Scout Movement introduced merit badges in technology area. Since then Pramuka ITB' s activities are directed strongly to learn and spread the knwoledge of technology. It is became its competitive capabilities. In every occasion, we hold special programme to do that, such as technology community, and technology exhibition.

The logo above is a symbol of Technology Village , one of the most important Pramuka ITB's programme. It is always held at special national scout movement programme, such as : National Scout Jamboree, National Rover/ Senior Rover Moot, or even non-Scouting Events.

    Meeting Schedule

The Group usually meets 8:30 to 11.30 am, Sunday morning at Group House on Jalan Ganesha # 10, except Cubs and Brownies meetings, are held on Saturday afternoon. The meeting always opened by flag ceremony conducted by each unit (pack, troop, crew). Afterward, each unit runs its own training programme, managed by Scout Master. Pack and troop often use ITB campus and its surrounding (include walk tracking, river, rice plain, and hills) as location of their training.

    Collection of Special Activities

    Package Method
Leaders have arranged many types of activity to facilitate his/her scout to earn his/ her rank. One method popularised by Kak Nurcahyo (Scout Leader) was called Packet Method. It package several skill training into a single specific activity that is very attractive to the scout.

A Rowing Packet has its goal to enable the scout to take adventure at lakes at south of Bandung. Before they can experience that unique activity, they should posses certain skills. Indirectly they learn several scout training - such as pioneering, marching, map reading, and swimming - in an interesting way, that probably will make them bored if being given in common way during regular meeting. They also learn how to work within a team, and how to be discipline.

Cubs are also possible to take the advantage of this method. Training packet called Learning the Fish World will introduce the cubs how to practice skill such as observing, reporting, pioneering, even to cooking through several regular meetings.
