Wisconsin Whitetails and Waterfowl Hunting Pictures
Here are some Wisconsin Deer that I have taken during 15 years of hunting that I have done.
That is a 10pt-17 1/2 inch spread deer, that I took while I was a stander in a drive my dad and uncles were doing,I was standing out in the middle of a hay field when this buck decided he had enough ,he came out about 100 yards below me and when I took my first shot he was flying, needless to say i didnt hit him,but the next 2 shots him him right in the neck, which slowed him down.He finally fell in a ditch right next to a road, good thing cause he weighed about 200 pounds.Shooting the deer was fun,but to see the my dad come out and ask me what I shot at,and i told him I shot at a fox,he got a doe in the drive so I helped him drag it back to the road,as we were draging the deer we came across the the tracks of the deer i shot, and he looked at me and said, now what did you really shot at,I finally said I shot a spike buck, well we finally got a little closer to the deer, when he got a good look at it and he went nuts,to see him so happy was alot better than shooting the deer, that was the first 10 pt buck our hunting party got, dont get me wrong we got some huge 8 pters, but no tens, man was he so happy...
Lets see,Hmmm,Ok the deer on left I shot while I was posting on another drive,I was sitting on a old blow down, and dad and my uncle were making a 2 man drive though a 2 year old clear cut,we had 1 buck permit and 2 doe permits,I heard dad shot and I got ready cause I knew the deer were going to be running,it was raining out so the tree was really slipper, when I saw the first wave come down a logging trail,I started shooting, there must of been 5 does,I shot twice, and I fell right out of this blow down,I climbed back up,and there was 5 more deer coming and i saw the buck,he kept coming and coming soon he was 50 yards away,I tried to find him in my scope but it was all fogged up from the rain,I cleaned it real fast and took my first shot..nothing I missed, aimed again took the second shot this time I saw him drop, but he got back up so I took another shot but he had jumped in the brush so I knew that didnt hit him,as look over there is 2 more bucks just standing there I pull on them deer, and Click out of bullets,as hard as tried ,I couldnt get them bullets in fast enough, the deer took off,we found the deer about 30 yards from where I saw him drop a good clean shot though the heart..Ok the the Deer on the right,I was again on post out int he middle of this hay field differnt spot than the 10 pointer I had shot,I was trying to cover a 80 acre field ,the drive was called the L drive cause, the woods is shaped in a L and the woods and is surrounded on all sides by fields but one I was covering the long end,Ok to the hunting part, the drive was half over when I had the feeling that something was staring at me,I looked back and here was this buck, this buck sneaked by one driver by going though a strip patch of balsem about 2 foot wide and came out at the very top of the field, well two minutes later we were standing over a nice wisconsin buck,he had part of his right antler broke, but oh well he was a buck..
