The Raven River is another river known for it's Brown trout. It also has Brookies, Rockies, and in the Northen Region it also has some pretty big Pike. This river is spring fed so it is a fairly clear river. In the summer it gets pretty weedy which gives the dry fly fishers a distinct advantage. The river itself is surrounded by farm land so be sure to get permission from them before going onto their property. The Browns in the river average about 1-2 pounds and the Brookies a little less. This river due to it's size and tree growth along the banks is a very difficult river to fish. It's scenery is breath taking, the fish too, if you can catch them. To get there just follow Hwy.11 from Sylavan Lake to Lesliville Corner, then travel about 20 km south to the creek.
