        Maggie GreenElk is a well known activist that has worked in clinics and crisis centers in many locations. Organizer of support groups for whatever the need. Eating disorder groups, twelve step programs, or the organization of a battered womens shelter in small villages or remote areas, before it became socially acceptable and fashionable to be done. Past Council leader 1981-83, 83-85. DNA NATIVE WOMAN OF THE YEAR IN 1984

        Gloria Youngdeer has worked in Indian Housing, and Public Housing programs for many years, in several Native Nations including the Cherokee, on the Rosebud, and Pineridge. She is a knowledgeable tribal historian, and respected Elder. Using knowledge of the past to speak to the young about self and tribal pride.
        Employed for many years with the Cherokee Nation to not only offer housing programs management, drug counseling, she volunteers her evening in the tribal community to teach a variety of cultural classes from Shawl Making, Basket Making, community gardening creations, wild herb gathering. She strongly believes anyone can make a positive difference in making good things happen to benefit the Native communities. Past Council leader from 1990-94, and DNA NATIVE WOMAN OF THE YEAR 1992.

        Yonty Firewalker Current Council leader, for her second term. Strong associations with Alaska, and Canada. Interacts with lobbying organizations at the Federal, and State levels to keep informed on current Native legislation that effects our situation as Nations under the United States rule, or influence. DNA NATIVE WOMAN OF THE YEAR 2007

        Grandmother Hopi A wise woman, gentle and kind. She could be found in public shelters, or Tribal offices teaching, advising, and counciling. She was an honored peace maker, with many years experience and held lots of quiet wisdom. Continues to promote community environmental responsibility and emergency readiness into retirement. Cherokee Tribal Elders Council.

        Deb NightEagle A Third Generation active member of this organization and several other organizations producing needed good work for several excellent causes. Her main interests are with protecting Animal rights.
