Self-Guided Tours of Towns On Trail- June 4, 2002: found another Sears house within a half-block of the trail.

- June 17: On the home page is a photographs of the week. The previous photographs of the week now have their own page.
- Mar. 4: Spun off two routes from this trail to the C and O Towpath and Intersecting bike trails from biking page.

- Apr 2000. You know Spring is here when you see all the activity on the trail. I added some old railroad pictures of Vienna and Dunn Loring. I also have more pictures of culverts and trestles to add, but they don't seem to be in much demand. Added a calendar of all the events, too.
- Mar, 2000: restored more pictures and information on the railroad in the Civil War, which I had previously posted in January, but which I deleted by mistake soon afterward. The source of this was George Abdill's Civil War Railroads.
- Mar., 2000: added pictures of highest trestles, houses in Dunn Loring, and the headquarters of Robert Lee in Leesburg.
- Noted that Herbert Harwood is working on a second edition of his book on the W and OD.
- Feb, 2000: took several photos of the trestles over Goose Creek and Sycolin Creek in the snow. Will add these to the trestles page.
- More photos due for Dunn Loring Guided Tour and Sterling Guided Tour.

- Nov. 20, 1999: joined web rings for Civil War and railroad to attract more traffic.

- September, 1999: Photo -- West of Lee Highway, a fire station rises next to the trail.
- Summer, 1999: Arlington County is erecting identification markers at frequent regular intervals to be used in emergencies in conjunction with cell phone calls to 911.
- Summer, 1999: The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority has just opened a new 40 car parking lot for W&OD Trail users at the trail intersection at Ashburn Road in Loudoun County. This lot is just on the opposite side of the trail from the famous Partlows Brothers Store, near Mile Marker 28.
- Spring, 1999: Added a memoir of life on the W&OD in Herndon after World War II. Herndon was considered to be countryside then! Mar 15, 1999.
