Epilogue

~ A FEW WEEKS LATER ~

“Are you sure you have to go?” Nick questioned as he held Jet tightly in her arms

“We all have things we need to do Nick, and this is mine” she replied quietly as she closed her dark lined eyes

“Will you ever be back?” he inquired as they parted from the embrace

“Maybe, one day” she whispered as the wind blew softly against them

“If I begged you not to go, would you stay?”

“I need to go Nick, I have to do this”

“But England?”

“I can start new. Please don’t make this harder Nick, I don’t want to walk away from you or from this, but I have to”

“I’ll never stop loving you Jet”

“You’ll find someone else, you’re like a shark rugged and true. Promise me one thing Nick”

“Anything”

“You’ll always be true to yourself, you’ll never forget who you are inside and that no matter what happens stay you”

“I promise” he whispered as she leant up to kiss his lips softly

His hand fell beside him as she backed away from him.

“Goodbye” she mouthed as tears streamed down her face, and in an instant she disappeared into the terminal.

Nick stood there for what seemed like decades, starring blankly at the glass doors, hoping somehow that she would come running back out of them, saying that she’d made a mistake and that she wasn’t going anywhere. That never happened.

~ YEARS LATER ~

Nick fell onto the comfort of his double bed, gently remembering that day as though it were yesterday. He’d turned 21 only days ago, but still longed for the past. He shut his eyes to remember the soft face of the girl he’d loved. The girl he’d never imagined falling in love with, they were so different, yet through it all they built a love that surpassed ever object in their way. Though it did meet goodbye in the end, deep down in his heart Nick knew that he’d never said goodbye to her, because she still did and would always hold a special place in his heart. He smiled to himself remembering everything it was that he loved about her.

“Opposite attract” he laughed as he drifted into a peaceful sleep.

The End

Wow, a second short story finished, woho for me, it's been a long road, but I did it. Thanks to the constant support from the people who read and loved this story, it's been a challange in places to write, but with your commitment, I figured I better be pumping some in as well.... To everyone searching for something, try looking in the Opposite direction, cause sometimes, Opposites really do attract.
