~ 2 MONTHS ON ~

“You ready?” Bianca smiled as she fixed her hair in the mirror
“Yeah” I muttered in disbelief.
As I stood in front of the floor length mirror I still couldn’t believe that I was there, dressed in a floor length white-silk dress, ready to marry the man I loved.
The day was amazing, the sun was high in the bluest sky I’d ever seen. The ceremony was to be held in the beautiful garden behind the country church. Dad smiled at me as he opened the door to announce it was time. Brian had gone to him months ago, I don’t know what he said to him but whatever he said it got through to Dad, he acknowledge he didn’t agree with everything I did, but I was his daughter so for that reason he would support me, deep down I always knew he was happy for me – I just don’t think he ever learnt how to show it.

I nodded as the others lined up in front of me, I don’t think I could ever imagine getting married without the three most important girls to me, with me. So there we were, the four friends that had seen their share of everything imaginable, together again.

The walk down the isle was the longest on I could have ever imagined. The guest to the left and right of me had disappeared as I focused on the rest of my life, who stood at the end, smiling in a black tuxedo, a red rose pinned in his buttonhole.

The ceremony went in a daze, and before I knew it the priest was announcing the words, “You may now kiss the bride” and with that magical moment, Brian and I made a promise to each other – to be together forever, a promise I somehow knew we’d always be making. From the first kiss in the rain late that night I knew this was something special, something amazing, and something I would share for the rest of the night.

“I love you Rose” Brian gushed as the Limozine drove away from the frantically waving guests
”I love you too” I softly smiled as my hand held his, and my head dropped to his shoulder

I closed my eyes in absolute happiness, I had everything I’d wished for as a little girl, I had the man I loved sitting in the seat beside me, I had a passion so deep no words could ever explain it, and I had three best friends, who throughout time and circumstances I deep down knew they would always be there – pure and simple.
