EPILOG


~ ONE YEAR ON ~

Tara smiled as she stood barefoot in the large apricot bathroom. She took a deep breath and walked out into the bedroom, where Brian was lying on the bed, flicking through a magazine.
“Brian” she smiled
He looked up from his magazine and gestured for her to continue.
“I have some news for you”
“What?” he questioned, shifting his body around to face her as she walked towards the bed
“I don’t know why she did it, and it doesn’t matter, but Leigh Anne lied about something”
Brian’s eyes narrowed.
“What?”
“I'm pregnant Brian, you can have children” she smiled
Brian mouth dropped as his eyes widened.

“I can?”
“More like you will” she chuckled
He smiled brightly as he flew off the bed and hugged her tightly.

“Alicia” Nick smiled as the two lay quiet in the back of the pickup truck that was parked on the cliff top where they’d made love.
“Humm” she breathed into the night sky
“I’ve made a whole heap of mistakes in my life, but you know what?”
“What?”
“You’re not one of them” he squirmed from underneath her and sat up, the sheets covering his lower body
“I'm going to wanna love you forever you know that don’t you”
“I’d like that” she chuckled
“Alicia, I think for once in my life the pieces fit together and I'm not afraid anymore. I'm not afraid of commitment and of sharing who I am, cause it all fits, you were the missing piece of the puzzle Alicia, and I found you. I guess” he sighed “what I'm trying to say to you, is that I got forever in mind when I look at you and –“ he scrambled with the words “Would you marry me?” Alicia questioned, knowing that was to be what he was going to ask
“Hey, that was my line” he smiled
“My answers yes, what about yours?”
“Yes Ma’am” he smiled as they lay down together.

Eve smiled as she grazed the side of Howie’s arm.
“We’ve been through a lot huh?” she smiled, Luke standing beside her
“You sure you have to do this?” he questioned as they stood outside the departure area
“I gotta get away for a while, show Luke his mother, you know, be there for him” she sighed
“Will you be back?”
“One day”
“And till then?”
“You’ll always be in my heart” she leaned in kissing him gently as she turned and walked away.
Howie watched with wonderment. He knew she was making the right decision, her son was the most important thing, and deep down something told him she would be back one day, he only prayed it would be sooner rather than later.

Jasmine smiled proudly as she held the Grammy award tightly in her hands. It had been a long, but amazing road, but finally she was up here, winning the award she owed to someone else.

She breathed deeply and looked out to the large crowd.
“First off, I have to thank the person who took a chance and gave me a chance, Alexander James McLean, I owe so much, for showing me faith and courage and strength and most of all I owe you for your love. This ones for you” she promised as a tear slid from her eye.

Sam stood in the distance, preoccupied with the large angel atop one of the gravesites. Kevin knelt down in front of her grave and lay down a arrangement of flowers.

“I'm sorry for everything Kristen, I promise you, I always loved you, and I always will” he quietly whispered
The wind swept through his hair, and he swore he could hear her voice flying along it “I love you too” it said.
“I never used to think I could go on without you, but then I realized something Kristen” he smiled as he looked at Sam “You didn’t leave me, you’re there, in our son, and in my heart, and as long as I have that, I know I'm going to be okay”
He stood up slowly, took Sam’s handed and wandered out of the graveyard, whispering one thing before he left – “Love is where your home is, and home is where you heart is”
