Chapter Eleven: Right or Wrong?
The day was drawing closer to what would have been
Melissa and Nicks 3rd Anniversary, security had
been stepped up as days ticked passed. Nick could sense it
in his bones whatever was going to happen would happen on that
very day now 2 days away.
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
Are we almost ready? a voice
questioned, eyes zooming in tightly
We need more time, I need more time,
maybe we should another pleaded
No, we strike now, its been too long
already
If we do it now, we still have her to worry
about
The voice laughed and snorted in amusement.
She has the mind of a child, shes no
threat
But she knows, she knows everything
The other sighed.
You take care of the target, Ill take
care of the other one a smirk brimmed
~ LATER THAT DAY ~
Under the shadow of the night, under the
shadow of the night, under the shadow of the night Abby
repeated in her head, trying her best to remember what she was to
do
Night would close in, in a few hours, then she
would need to act. The day was coming, only two days from
now, then finally she could be rid of the voices, the voices and
the pictures that taunted her mind.
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
Charisma sulked around I the locked bathroom, Nick
was down in the lounge watching yet another sitcom he enjoyed so
much. She paced quicker, her fingers entwining the
separating. She turned on the shower and watched the water
explode onto the shower floor. She tightened her ponytail
and slipped out of the bathroom window, and ran through the
darkness.
She puffed deeply as she reached the arranged spot, hidden deep in the undergrowth of the trees around.
"What took you so long" a voice creaked out from the dark bushes
"I do what I can" she snapped defensively
"What it child, or I'll remove your chess piece from the board"
She backed off, her hands sliding onto her hips.
"When will the game end?" she questioned, her eyes trying to make out a face that was hidden in shadows
"Soon, why do you tire?"
"I want to sing"
A quiet laugh rung out.
"There wont be anymore after this"
She stamped her foot.
"Why?"
"Because my dear, the pieces of the puzzle may be put together and it will all point to you"
She wanted to curse, but she knew better.
"This is unfair"
"Life is unfair"
"I don't want to" she announce sternly
A smile blinked out from the shadows as two heavy hands pushed down onto her shoulders, as if nailing her into the ground, she wanted to scream, but it would do no good, it had never done in the past. Her eyes became heavy quicker than usually, her heartbeat slowed as words repeated into her ear. She nodded absentmindedly, then awoke from what played itself off to be like slumber.
"Now go" a voice commanded
She did just that, running back the way she'd come.
"Everything okay?" Nick inquired as Charisma walked out of he bathroom, patting her wet hair
"Fine" she smiled, showing perfectly straight teeth
"I'm sorry about all this" he sighed, touching her bare shoulder
"Don't worry about it" she half snapped, pulling her shoulder away
"Did I do something?" he questioned, tilting his head to the side
She shook her head quickly and disappeared into the bedroom, she needed to be alone, just until the flashes went.
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
Abby sat in the corner of her room, breathing deeply and staring out into nothing at all. She crouched low and tried to calm herself down. She was sure a long time ago she'd been taught the difference between right and wrong, she was positive that she once knew that, however things had changed. She was no longer sure of the difference…
"Isn't that wrong Daddy?"
"Only if you get caught"
"Only if I get caught" Abby announced to herself
"I don't want to do anymore bad things"
"I don't want to do anymore"
"I don't want to"
"I wont"
She shook her head violently. She was fighting on a team, but was it the good or the bad one? Was there even such a thing? She clutched at her hand in frustration and closed her eyes a soft tear springing forth.
