CHAPTER 12 - SECRETS LEFT UNTOLD - PART 1

A brave face to hide the tears
To Lock away my fears
Secrets I never share
Though you’re standing there
I wonder if you see
The truth inside of me
It’s sadness to my ears
You’re no longer here

I try to cover my secrets
I bottle them inside
Too scared to admit to you
The pain I long to hide

Arora lay awake in the uncomfortable bed. Her feet shifted slightly under the pressed perfect sheets as she slipped her legs out from their covering. She placed her left foot first down onto the cold lino and turned her head quickly to watch Brian. He’d fallen asleep, as she had hoped. His head propped up against her hand, his eyes closed tightly, his mouth partially opening, breathing quietly to himself. She smiled slightly as she placed her right foot onto the ground.
“Now just stand” she muttered under her breath
She stood up slowly, the weight of her body falling onto both legs. She yelped in pain as she fell backwards again, the pain shooting through out her entire right side becoming to overpowering for her to handle.
“And where would you be going?” Brian inquired, her voice startling him from his slumber
“Out of this place” Arora responded, trying to get herself together
“Come on Arora at least for once accept that you aren’t going anywhere, you need this hospitals help” Brian pleaded with her, trying to lye her back down in bed
She jolted her body away from him.
“I refuse to lye here and rot away, you can either help or leave me alone” she announce
“Look okay, just stay here one minute okay? I’ll check you out” Brian suggested as he walked out of the door

~ 5 MINUTES LATER ~

“It’s all set, you’re ready to go” Brian smiled patting the seat of the wheelchair he’d bought along
“I don’t need that” Arora remarked
“I know you don’t, but its regulation” he winked wheeling it up to her
Hesitantly she sat down in it.
“There was however one problem” he announced as he pushed her out the door
“Oh really, what?”
“You cant be alone, and I rung home, but Bianca’s not there so it would seem you’re going to have to endure staying with me” he smiled
Arora could not help but slightly smiling back.
“Whatever” she shrugged as they exited the hospital

~ AT THE SAME TIME ~

“Who was on the phone?” Bianca inquired as she lay semi awake in the bed
“Brian, he said that if Arora asks we weren’t here tonight okay?” Nick laughed as he switched off the lamp beside him
“I hope he knows what he’s doing” Bianca mumbled as she drifted off back to sleep

~ 10 MINUTES LATER ~

“You okay?” Brian inquired as Arora sat down slowly into the couch
“I’m fine” she replied turning away as he sat down next to her
She tried, but despite her best efforts, the tears she’d been saving for so many nights came slowly tumbling out.
“Rose, what’s wrong?” Brian questions touching her shoulder gently
“Nothing” she sniffed
“I’m not blind Rose, I can see the tears, even if you try to hide them”
“I’m just tired”
“I understand I’ve lost your trust Rose, but you shouldn’t push away my friendship. Tell me what’s wrong”
Arora turned her head slowly to look at Brian, he used to be the person she could always turn to, no matter what, and even though she tried to push that knowledge so far back into her head she couldn’t ignore the fact she needed him now – more than ever. Without thinking she leaned towards him, wrapping her arms around his waist dropping her head onto his shoulder in a flood of tears she couldn’t restrain. Without question he held her tightly, allowing her to cry.

Moments later she broke away from him, wiping her tears away from her eyes harshly.
“Did I do this?” he questioned running his hand down the side of her face “are these tears my fault?”
Slowly she shook her head.
“This isn’t because of you. It’s just me” she wept
Brian sighed quietly as he took her hand into his.
“Tell me Rose, what's wrong with you? What's happened?”
“Do you ever get that feeling no one cares?” she questioned wiping a stray tear
Brian slowly nodded, it wasn’t his time for words.
“And despite been surrounded by people, you don’t know where to turn? God if you only knew how much I needed you Brian, I needed you then, more than I could ever express”
“I'm here now Rose”
“My father disowned me Brian, he doesn’t want to know me anymore” she cried dropping her head onto her chest
“Oh baby I'm sorry” Brian whispered pulling her into him “but you still have your brother right?”
More tears flooded from her eyes as she shook her head in his arms. She looked up at him, her eyes clouded with tears.
“He’s dead” she quietly whimpered “They all dies in a car accident not long ago, about 6 months. God I hate him, my father, I hate him. He wouldn’t even go to the funeral, he refused to even acknowledge my brother existed. That’s when I needed you Brian. I didn’t tell anyone else, I just went alone. There were only a handful of people there and it ripped me up inside to know that something so tragic cant unite a family. I'm sorry for the distance and for everything, I'm just tired of placing my heart where it gets hurt” she cried softly as the memory of the lonely graveyard came to mind

“I didn’t know” was all Brian could respond with
“Of course you didn’t, no one did”
“Rose could you ever forgive me? For doing what I did, if I could turn back time –“
“But you cant, and I don’t want you to”
“What do you want then?”
“You” she whispered leaning in to kiss his inviting lips

His lips quivered as the kiss lasted for what seemed a lifetime. For once in what seemed like forever Arora didn’t hold back what she felt, her secrets which had buried her heart deep amongst tears had come out now, and now only Time (no pun intended LOL) would tell what the future held.
