CHAPTER 31 – IN AND OUT OF LOVE?

Nick walked slowly and surely, his hands delved deep into his pockets, his face, looking down, finding comfort in the ground beneath him. He heard the noise in front of him, and immediately looked up, he saw the face of his best friend laden with tears and a thin pursed glare on his lips.

“I cant live my life without Arora, she’s everything to me, and there is no way I'm going to walk away without a fight” Brian said stiffly “I’ll fight for her Nick, right here and right now” His voice was cold and 100 percent serious. A small smiled broke free in Nick’s heart, he knew – deep down – he’d done the right thing.
“You don’t need to do that” Nick said softly “she loves you Brian, that’s pretty clear, I just hope you realize what you have” he added as he walked past Brian and continued on his way.

Brian watched with confusion as Nick walked away. He turned back to face the beach, and made the decision to go the way Nick had come. He ran over the bank, and spotted the silhouette on the beach, kneeling in the sand, motionless.

Arora looked up to see the figure. It was too dark and too distant to make out who it was, but it was coming towards her.

Brian, without a second thought ran across the beach. His feet hitting the hard sand, as he ran to the lone figure, as he got closer, he saw the long dark hair of the girl he loved glistening in the thick moonlight, making him only run faster.

He fell to his knees in front of her, his forehead covered in lines of concern.
“Arora, please, please forgive me” he cried as he touched her face gently
“Why? This wasn’t you’re fault, it was mine” Arora responded quietly
“It’s only now, I really realize something about us Arora. I know that I hurt you before, I let you go because I thought it was the best thing, then tonight you let me go because you thought it was the best thing, I deserved that Arora, I know I deserved that, but if there is one thing now that I'm certain of, its that destiny wont let us let go, it wont let us walk away, because my life isn’t worth living if you’re not in it” Brian whispered, staring at her with pure love
“But after everything?” Arora muttered, unsure if this was some trick
“After everything, I know there is nothing more I want, then you in my life. We all make mistakes Arora, we all do things we regret, its what we do after that matters. I love you, I love you so much” he cried, cupping her face in his hands “but I need to know, if its me you love Arora? That’s all I need to know”
Arora bit her bottom lip as a small smile escaped from her. She nodded quickly, as she fumbled over the word “yes”.
“That’s all I need” Brian sighed, reaching over to embrace her
She fell safely into his arms, as he enveloped her body tightly.

~ AT THE SAME TIME ~

“I propose the MTV awards” Chastity grinned, slipping a chip into her mouth
“You’re gonna do it in one night?” AJ smirked
“That’s all it takes baby” Chastity said as she blew a kiss at him “I’ll have that little boy eating out of the palm of my little pop hand” she added
“Whatever” AJ murmured as he strolled back down the hall

~ 10 MINUTES LATER ~

“Excuse me, miss?” Nick whispered quietly as he stood by the half rounded desk in the hospital
“Can I help you Sir?” a middle aged women inquired
“I'm just wondering how a Miss Bianca Taylor is doing, I just want to know if she’s okay” Nick replied softly
“She’s in that room just over there. It’s late, but you seem nice enough, go in and say hello to her, I'm sure she’d like the company” the lady smiled as she flicked through some folders
“Actually its probably best not to see her” Nick sighed. He could only imagine what was going through her head, but whatever was, he was sure she wouldn’t want to see him
“Suit yourself” she shrugged as she gathered the folders together and made her way down the hall.

Nick sighed softly to himself as he placed his hands lazily in his pockets and made his way back the way he’d come.

He stopped in front of the door the nurse had pointed to. The door was closed and there was no light coming from inside. He pushed his face up against the window off the room. There was no movement, nothing, only still darkness. He searched it closer, till a figure came to formation, lying still on the bed in the center of the room. Reaching over to the door handle, he ever so quietly opened it with a barely audible click.

He walked into the darkness, closing the door quietly behind him. His eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, the only light, coming from outside and pushing through the thick curtains. He tiptoed over to the bed and starred down at the figured tucked up under the sheets.

She looked so peaceful, so quiet. Her eyes were closed tightly, her lips pursed slighting into perhaps what could be classed as a smiled. One hand was buried deep under the white blankets, the other sat on top, but curled around her body. Her legs were tucked up to her chest, her hair falling loosely across her face and the pillow she slept on.

“I'm sorry for hurting you” Nick whispered “I never meant for this to happen” he added.
He knew he cared for her, he felt the need to wrap his arms protectively around her, he didn’t want anything bad to ever happen to her, but did he love her? That question plagued his mind, he did once love her – for certain, but is it possible to fall out of love? Was it possible to just stop loving someone in that way?

He touched the side of her face softly. He knew she wouldn’t want to see him, in fact he wasn’t sure if she’d ever speak to him again. But he knew one thing for sure, he would always care for her and he’d always watch over her, no matter what, he would be there.
