This web site is dedicated to our beautiful daughter Abigail Renee who passed from Trisomy 18
Larry and I live in Portland Oregon and have been married three years. In September we decided to start a family. On March 1,2002  Larry and I found out we were going to have our first baby . In June of 2002 we had our AFP test which showed that we had a risk for Trisomy 18. At that time our life came crashing down. We had our first ultrasound in June and Abigail looked okay, so we chose not to have any test to see if she could have Trisomy 18. On the July 1 we had our second ultrasound. During that ultrasound Abigail's growth had slowed down and they saw a heart problem so we had an amnio done. On July 8 we got our results back and it told us our worst fear. Abigail had Full Trisomy 18. Larry and I chose to continue with our pregnancy. We always knew that she could pass away, but we just hoped she would come home with us. On August 3, my birthday, we had to go to the hospital. Abby had not moved in a day or so. I called Peggy our Midwife and she met us there. When they hooked me up to all the monitors Abby had a strong heartbeat. Peggy sent us on our way , because we had plans to stay at the beach for three days. I had an appointment with Peggy on Thursday August 8th. When I got that appointment, Peggy did her routine thing and listened for her heartbeat. On that afternoon our worst fears came true. Abby had passed and gone to heaven. At that time I was 28 weeks along. On the 8th Peggy induced me and Abby was born on August 9th, 2002 at 10:04am. She was 11 1/2" long and 1lb 8oz. My midwife Peggy took something very sad in our lives and made it the best experience of our lives and left the best memories of Abby we could ever have in our minds. Without Peggy I don't know if we would have had a good experience. Abigail was laid to rest on August 12,2002. Please feel free to sign Abby's Guestbook, and thank you for visiting her website.
