Sitting down on the hard wooden chair, she smiled broadly and tugged on her brown wherhide vest. "I know I'm abit old to be a candidate, but, I guess that blue just saw something in me. Maybe he'll be right." She said with a laugh as she told her best friend, Ierma, where she was going. The other woman replied sourly, "Yes, he must have been right. But why did he have to Search you now? I heard a position was opening up in another Hold I'm sure you would have gotten. Afterall, it's been what, three or four turns since you walked and still haven't been assigned?" Ierma had a right to be sour. Her best friend was leaving, and Ierma's baby was almost due and she was counting on Jayre to delived the babe personally. Jayre hadn't gotten attached to any man yet, while Ierma had married already. The younger woman smoothed her vest confidently and smiled at her sour friend. She reached across the table and ruffled Ierma's hair. "My friend, you are too old to become a mother. Wait." Ierma smiled lightly at that and patted her already-bulging stomach with affection. "I think it's abit too late for that! My overly tanned friend." She answered with a lighted smile and the sour expression left her face. Jayre was certainly the most tanned of her siblings, for as journeyman, she was required to travel out in the heat and her fair skin seemed to resist burn now and tanned quite easily. "So, when are you leaving?" Ierma asked sadly and arose from her wooden chair and streched, leaving one petite hand on her growing stomach. Jayre stood also and towered over her short friend. Smiling sadly, Jayre's light grey-blue eyes darkened and she replied regretfully, "Later this afternoon, I have my things alreayd packed." She pointed ot the corner of the small room and looked once again at the waterproofed hide hand bag bulging with her items. "Well, I wish you the best of luck. If you don't Impress, I'll be glad to work by your deft hands once again." Ierma said and left silently, her long gown swishing as she waddled out the door. Jayre watched her friend go and set to wandering about the room. She picked up a piece of hide left on her nightstand and fingered it delicately.
