The Aiken Dog Training Club (ADTC) is a not-for-profit, all volunteer club devoted to dog training and the responsible citizenship of dogs and their owners. Membership is drawn from throughout the Central Savannah River Area. The club offers an opportunity to meet with other trainers and people, to work together and develop camaraderie and showmanship. The ADTC was founded in the fall of 1978 by a small group of dedicated dog fanciers interested in establishing a working club active in all forms of dog sports. The club offers obedience matches, as well as agility and herding events. The ADTC is a licensed affiliate of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and is authorized to conduct both obedience and agility trials and matches within its geographic area. (Although our trials are only for AKC registered dogs, we welcome all dogs in our training classes.) The ADTC is governed by officers and directors elected annually by the membership. Club members with experience and knowledge are willing to work with others and offer advice and information. In addition to a variety of dog/handler training classes, the ADTC sponsors a variety of social events for people and their dogs. For more information, click on the links to the left. |
