ADVANCE is prepared to conduct community needs assessments, to facilitate group discussions aimed at identifying the power relationships in your community, to help organize a cause or issue-oriented community organization, to facilitate decisions concerning new social programs or economic development initiatives, and to provide a host of other on-demand services in community and economic development.
Fees for these on-demand services are a mere $150 per day, usually with a two day minimum.
ADVANCE is also interested in helping communities acquire the skills necessary to provide services for themselves. ADVANCE offers a full range of training services, including courses in community development process, regional economic development, community studies, municipal studies, needs assessments, and community research methods. On-site instruction and workshops for groups of five to fifteen students are usually $650 per course. Additional fees for travel may be necessary depending on your location.
ADVANCE Institute's primary associate has extensive experience as a community organizer, elected and appointed official, and college professor. He holds an earned doctorate in the social sciences, a certificate in community and regional planning, and a military diploma in civil affairs. His teaching experience includes a variety of classes in human services, political, economic, and social development, environmental politics, and other related topics.
