formed in fall 2002, aegis, formerly known as chess club, which was the result of many failed band attemps between will and chris. chris and sean were trying to start a rock band, and after recruiting will, started in on the band we know today. songs were thrown together over the winter, and they played their first show in march 2003 at the depot in darien. a 6 track ep, "the loft" was recorded in july 2003 and released under the "label" real loud records in september of that year. aegis has performed at the depot, the shac, wes's basement, the new canaan outback, and the teishu house in stamford, sharing the stage with none more black, the backup plan, the arsons, jets jaguar, heads vs. breakers, call it arson, for all it's worth, first aid kit, the good fight, decoy, pretty in pink, and juniper.
